Ta Da!!!!! Blue Jeans and Daisies is Done!!

Wow!  It is done!!!  Finished!! Caput!!  I am so happy and excited to have this project done.  It is huge!!  When you work on just a small section at a time, you forget how large it really is.  I am happy dancing in Lake George.

Remarkable Progress

I must apologize for not posting a photo sooner.  I have been stitching like a crazy person.  I have a little bit to do on the peacock square and then there is a small square in the upper corner to do.  I am almost there.  I have been struggling with the loss of my best friend.  To those that follow me, it has been difficult but I am getting through it.  Baby steps with a few major melt downs will get me to a place I need to be.  I would also make a note that it is hard for me to sit through some social situations now.  I was exposed to a husband bashing just the other day.  I have participated in this type of conversations in the past.  I sat there, quietly, turning Jack's ring on my finger.  As I listened to each complaint, each criticism, I wondered how they would feel to lose that person from their life.  It was so hard not to scream, not to break down and cry.  I guess I just want to remind people that words are powerful, taking those you love for granted is normal, and once in awhile perhaps we should stop and consider what we are thinking and saying to the world.

Blue Flowers

Slowly I creep towards the end of this project.  Yesterday it was blue flowers and a few bees.

Fruit Basket for Blue Jeans and Daisies

I worked on the fruit basket today.  It seems wonderful to start and complete a section in one day.  The border is Smyrna crosses.  It worked up rather quickly.

Pretty pink blossoms and strawberries

My front garden is blooming.  These are the pink rhododendrons.   The deep reds haven't quite opened up yet.  I took a quick photo before the heavy rains ruin them.

I have been stitching.  today I finished the strawberry block.  This means that I am now down to just one more chart.  Almost done!!  Wow - -

Butterfly

Yes, it is a butterfly but more important is I TOUCHED THE WALL!!!  You are looking at the right side of the project.  I feel like I have been working on this project for years.  Perhaps the end is in sight.

A new block complete and the computer is now mine!

I have been stitching.  I am so happy to have this block done.  I am going to do the two blocks that go along side of this which will represent the right edge of the project.  The end is in sight.  Yippee!

I am also working on computers.  My regular computer is throwing hard disk failure messages at me.  I had to make a move.  This was my dear Jack's lap top and it is newer than mine.  I decided to move my files and set ups to this lap top and move on.  Today I found some stickers to decorate this lap top with to make it my own.

New computer - garden update - some stitching

My son and I just finished putting down some food and mulch when the rain started.  It looks good  I hope all the plants like our improvements.

My computer is giving me errors that the hard disk is about to crash.  I must do a backup.  Well, it is backed up and I am hoping to get all my data files off that lap top to this one before the end happens.  Meanwhile I am learning a new lap top and a new key board.  Things are not where they belong.  ARGH!!  This too will pass.

Busy day with a bit of tree work

My day started with a bit of spring clean up outside.  Then I tackled the John Deer tractor/mower.  I did okay for a bit but then my son took over and finished up the mow job.  I know there are things that I am going to have to learn and that was one of them.  I spent the afternoon watching old John Wayne movies and stitching.  I have this block about half done?  There is a blue bird here also.  I seem to like blue birds of late.

Blue Bird Project

I visited a quilt shop today.  This afternoon I put together this applique block.  Tomorrow I hope to stitch the edges of the appliques and then finish up the quilt block.  The bird will also get a small button for an eye.  It is something quite different.

Honest - I am stitching

Part Two is done!  I am now working with the last two pieces of paper/charts.  I am thrilled to make this report.  I wish I could say that I have been stitching up a storm but I haven't.   Life gets in the way.  Paperwork seems to always be looming.  Add in the housework and normal things and I do seem to keep very busy.

Lilacs, daisies and blue jeans

My son brought me some lilacs yesterday.  We also went out to brunch and he had a lovely card with a bracelet in it.  Oh - and the trellis and clamatis.  I am one spoiled Mom.

I did get some stitching done over the weekend.  Along with so many things done in the house.  I am making progress all over the place.  I am most eager to have that one large center block done.  Leaves, then flowers and the bunny needs a tail....  then done.  It is cold here.  I have had a fire today to help take the chill out of the room.  What has happened to spring?  I might have to cover the new plants tonight.  Oh No.....

What a handsome son and some stitching on a rainy day

My photo came out blurry but I am going to post it anyway.  Bud has a party to attend and is wearing his new purple shirt to the big occasion,  Meanwhile the knee brace is smaller but still very necessary.  I doubt there will be much dancing this evening.

It rained in the night and I woke to the sound of rain,  All the more reason to roll over and sleep a bit longer.  Then I got up, got some things done and stitched.  Progress is being made.  Rumor has it that I may be doing some model stitching in the near future.  I am so glad to be back to my stitching...

A new Trellis and some progress

My son worked this morning on building the trellis for the new flowers. It is ready to do.  I really hope it grows great.  I am trying to avoid touching it or even talking to it.  I have such a black thumb when it comes to plants.  I am very proud of my son and his wonderful wood working abilities.  It will be a happy Mother's Day here.

I did get some stitching done.  I have had a bit of a melt down over the last 24 hours.  What starts a crying jag?  What triggers the sobbing, the heart ache and the total sense of loss?  I am not sure how it starts but I am sure it happens and it is hard to climb out of.  A prayer was answered when a friend, that I don't hear from very often, called just as I was trying to climb out of that hole.  I cried at first but soon she had me laughing and talking stitching and many other happy things.  I am truly blessed.

Spring! Happy Mother's Day Early! Progress with swans

I love the yellow bushes.  (Yes, I know I should know their names but.....)
In the fore ground is my new deck.  That project is now on hold while my son's knee heals.  He gave it a terrible wrenching last week and has been wearing a brace that is helping but he is still taking it easy,

Happy Mother's Day.  The photo makes the flower look blue but really they are purple.  The plan is to remove a dying tree from the front garden.  A new trellis will go up and these little beauties will grow and cover it.  Cross your fingers..... my thumbs have never been accused of being very green.

Swans!  Today the four sided stitch block was completed with the swans.  I am so close to being done with part two - - in fact I am working on part three charts to finish the right side of this one.

Part 2 is almost done!

I am done with the large daisies.  I am done with the house and the birds on top.  I have the date done.  I am now working on the outline of four sided stitch that will surround the swans.   Part 2 is almost done!!!  Perhaps tomorrow.  Today was a beautiful sunny day.  I was able to stitch most of the afternoon.  We had a lovely grilled steak with potatoes and squash on the grill.  It was great.  The weather man says that the rain is coming.  We really do need some so I guess it is a good thing.  The trees are filling in and I can no longer see my one neighbor.  Good bye until late September or October.....

Better Day with some stitching

I am closing in on getting Part Two done on this Blue Ribbon Design Blue Jeans and Daisies project.  Thank you to all that wrote with supportive comments and concerns.  I am doing okay.  This stage of my life is the toughest I have ever had to encounter.  I do fine some times. I do okay most of the time.  Then there are days....  I suppose it is all normal.  I am stitching whenever I can.  I am trying to reorganize my house.  I am also reading some books.  I keep busy.  Today it was paperwork (my new hobby) time and then some shopping.  I hope to stay home tomorrow and do some stitching.

It was a day!

I did get some stitching done.  The weather has turned nicer.  A bit cool but nice.  It was also a day to remember and cry.  Tears make for difficult stitching.  I suppose this is all part of it.  I just wish I could turn back the hands of time.  I miss my best friend.  I am feeling a bit lost.

IT IS HERE!!! MY CHAIR!

Today my new craft room chair arrived.  I spent most of the day stitching in there and I have a finish to report.  The chair looks great in that room.  Most men that have seen it have the same comment.  "You won't catch me sitting in it."  That is just fine with me.  Here it is:

I worked on the scissors case for the Nordic Needle hardanger project.  I finished the scissors case and now I have the chart for the biscornu.  I am not sure when I will get to that project.  Meanwhile ----

Beautiful day and a bit of progress

Pot Pot took a few moments out of his busy work schedule to help Landon play on the tractor.  They had quite the time driving around.

Our latest home improvement project.  The deck is going to be replaced with fancy Trex materials.  I am so excited.

I did some work on the stitching.  I actually tried to take a break today to let my sore muscles relax.  The craft room is better.  Some windows have been washed.  Yesterday the entertainment center held my attention  I am hoping to get some serious stitch time in soon.  Tomorrow the new chair arrives for my craft room.  Yippee Skippy!!!  Should be fun.
