Perhaps now - -the horse can dance....

I worked my way down the horse. I am growing very sick of black. Black, black and more black. Meanwhile the end of the cape is done with all the sparkly stuff. Gee- - what is next? I suppose I will have to spend a day working on a horse's a$$?????? Horrors of horrors.....

Mr. Horse is starting to look better

Well we have parts of the front hooves started. Meanwhile I did do the saddle. The edge of the saddle and the cape have sparkly braid.

More shopping and more stitching

I am quite pleased with all my new stash. I continue to work on my main project. The poor guy now has a leg!!! I may have to take a break and do something small or finish up a UFO project. I am excited about the play of the gray and black of the horse. I have continued to more on with the stitching and for now the jacket will remain brown. Pulling it out and replacing it is always an option (well, until framing is done - - that might slow me down - - LOL).

And the work goes on - -

I worked on the horse and the rider's seat. (I was trying to be delicate there --- LOL). I also did some damage with stash shopping.

A bit of explanation is in order

I made a mistake. I didn't catch the slight different between an up pointing arrow and a down pointing arrow. (Perhaps it was not so much a mistake). The jacket is supposed to be a mustard color? I discovered the mistake and now wonder if I should change it or not. I like the brown color on the jacket. What do you think?

Spooky horse - -

Check out the red eyes! I started on the horse. I am sure that by the end of this I will be sick of black and three shades of grey. I think the white part on the reins is a glove of the guy....... stay tuned.....

The Moon rises - -

This is the start of the moon. The moon is stitched with an overdyed silk. The main part of the project is all done with DMC. I am using my double row technique in hopes that the moon will look normal.

Next I started on the tree.....

I see I left the magnet on the fabric. I normally use magnets to attach the chart to the fabric while I am stitching. This makes it easier to keep track of what I am working on. I have to say that this chart from Glendon Place is huge, I mean huge. It is most difficult to work with. Once folded, the chart is too thick to use magnets as I usually do. This all makes for a 'Grrrrr' every now and then.

One wall is done!!

The very top edge is complete. The upper border is done except for the sparkle braid and perhaps some beads - - I don't remember. This pattern will be repeated all around the edge. Have I ever mentioned that borders can be very boring? This has lots of stuff but I am sure it will get boring all the same.

A new project begins - -

This is Spooky Hollow by Glendon Place. I will have plenty of comments about this project as time goes on. This is the beginning of a rather large project. I spotted this project on line. It looked like it was stitched on a mottled blue fabric. It is stitched on a fabric called Haunted and it is more green than blue. I like the whole concept as it made me think of my brother. More on that later.

Just Nan - Spooky Hat

I love it!! The finishing wasn't all that bad. I had the purple twisted cord in my stash and used that around the outside. I did have to make the hot pink cording. It was easy to do and only took a few hours. I just love the bat needle at the top.

The start of the crown of the hat - -

There is a lot of work on the cone part of the hat. This is the start of it with the six ghosts that ring the top of this witch's hat....... More to come.

JUST A HINT - - soon I will post photos of my big brother's needle threaders - - (they are selling like hot cakes). My sister posted on her blog that I had done this -- not yet but I am taking photos and will get there soon. Think Christmas gifts.

Fruits are put on hold

Here is a closer look at the main piece and a shot of the extra pieces. There is a strawberry type scissors fob (done on the lower right) and then a scissor pocket, pin cushion and needle book. However - - I am out of the overdyed floss and I am waiting for more to arrive. So this one will have to go on hold for a bit...................

Fruits of the Harvest

This is the outside of the main project. This will be outside of the sewing case. The white flowers don't show up very well but they are strawberry flowers made with queen's stitch.

Just a bit more - -

I am running out of floss - - The multi colored floss that is the most of the design is running out.. I hope I have enough.

It is beginnning to fill in - -

This is one half of the very varigated Autumn floss. I tried to be rather scientific about how I used the floss. I am not sure it is worth the effort but here it is.

Cat's Whiskers - Fruits of the Harvest

I love this piece. This will be the outside of the needle book/case. The multi color floss around the outside is Dinky Dyes 'Autumn'. I am trying very hard to keep the colors flowing around the piece in both directions with a bit of reason. I may decide later this is a bad idea? I do love the sentiment.

Ok - it is beginning to be a bit embarassing - -

Halloween is my thing right now. I just love the orange fabric for the Blue Ribbon piece and the spooky fabric for the headless horseman - - oh my..... I wish I had all the time in the world to just sit and stitch. Lately I have to steal a few hours to 'play'. Things got backed up while gone and I am still digging out. Soon I hope that things calm down and I can return to normal. - whatever that is.... LOL.
