Happy Halloween

Yeah, that's me.  I am wearing my witches hat I made years ago and my new Halloween ruffle scarf.  I did get some stitching done but I have yet to get a photo - so you get me.  We went to Bolton and watched the little ones collecting their candy.  One little kid showed up in costume and riding a mini horse.  That was fun.  I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday.

Block #7 ready for filling & turkeys come to visit

While monitoring the weather on TV and out the window this afternoon, I did the work to get block number seven ready for filling in.  I believe a witch will be flying across this one.  Only one more block after this one.

This morning before lunch time, the turkeys were out checking out the lawn and looking for a meal before the big storm arrived.  These guys are getting very big....

Block #6 - cemetery scene

I have yet another block done.  I also started basting on a Gingerbread house.  I have wanted to work on that for years but every time I pull it out and realize that basting is involved, I find something else to work on.  So I started getting that ready to go.

We are getting ready for the hurricane.  We remember Irene far to well to ignore Sandy.  It is looking like we will be fine here but it doesn't hurt to be prepared.

Another block done and progress on the CoH

I did complete the latest block.  I do have an argument with the tree.  Is that a Christmas tree waiting for decorations?  Say it isn't so.   I am so crazy with all the Christmas stuff out already.  Before Halloween?  I just shake my head and move on.  I saw candy canes just the other day.  By Christmas time, you won't be able to find any - the Easter eggs will be out.

I am slowly making progress on the Confetti of Hardanger.  I am working on the outside border with button hole stitch.  I have three of the sides done.  More instructions come out tomorrow - I am only one section behind - once I finish this part.  I am getting there but it is very slow.

Grey wall and a new visitor

I started on a grey on grey wall with a black cat or two block.  So far it is mostly grey.  I also received a package that contained a whole bunch of silk.  I spent some time this afternoon organizing the Silk and Colors and Northern Lights silks.  My mind spins as I dream up what to stitch with these goodies.

We had a visitor.  Sorry the picture isn't better.  The deer looked right at me.  There was no urgent signs of leaving and the deer just rambled around in the back yard.  It was fun to watch.

Spooky House block is done

I did get some stitching done.  I finished the spooky house block.  I am not sure what is next.  I believe that is block number 4 of 8 so I must be half way done.  Yeah!!!  I have yet to decorate for Halloween much.  I have so many things I need to 'finish' and I wish I could find the time to do that.  We always seem to have to go somewhere.

Turkey day is coming -

Most days we see the turkeys.  Today I counted 16 in total as they cruised the yard.  It is hard to see but we have lots of big turkeys now.

I also started working on the spooky mansion in block number four.  Stitching is slow with all the errands we have to do but I will get this done.......

Bibbity Bobbity Boo

Done.  Finished.  I made a hang up with it.  I have also already given this one away!  The minute I saw this design, I thought of Jack's niece Erin.  She came for a visit and picked it up today.  I think it came out pretty cool.

You can begin to see - -

My ghost is playing a sax.  Well, almost a sax - it will be by tomorrow?  This one is going rather quickly.  As usual, I seem to forgo the bigger more difficult projects and just want to finish the smaller one.  It was a rainy day and I stayed home all day.  Ahhhh.

Second row done and a new start

I put the second row of kloster blocks on the Confetti of Hardanger by Bee's Needleworks today.  Next up will be the buttonhole stitch all the way around the project.  It was a chemo day so I didn't get much time to stitch.  This project is being done with a magnifier.  So our trip to the cancer center required (get that? Required!) a new start......

This is not much to look at now.  It is Bibbity Bobbity Boo by Glenden Place.  It is a Halloween ornament.  Stay tuned (LOL) to see how it comes out.

Whew - - they meet!

It is not perfect.  It is my own design at this point.  This project is called Confetti of Hardanger by Bee's Needleworks.  I know I made lots of mistakes.  This project has been heading to the fire many times.  For now - - the outside border has been stitched and the ends meet.  I ended up have the top and bottom edges be 13 stitches and not just the five that it called for.  I will have to be very creative to fill that space.  For now I am going to celebrate that there has been some progress made.

Happy Toes & a bit of progress

I took a bit of time today and went for a pedicure.  I have happy purple/burgundy toes.  They feel so good.  I also worked on the Confetti of Hardanger.  I have made so many mistakes and now the border is not working out.  I am attempting to make up my own changes to make it all work.  I am not sure what I will end up with.

Work continues on both projects

This project is driving me a bit crazy.  I have to use a magnifier to see to put those little flower motifs on the sides of the square.  The is Confetti of Hardanger of Bee's Needlework and a SAL with a yahoo group of specialty stitchers.  I now have seven of the twelve done.  I am using Iced Lavender floss for this part. Part Six is available and this is currently Part Three - I am a bit behind.

Meanwhile - when the specialty stitches get me crossed eyed, I return to the Bats & Cats.  That is block number three of eight.  Very cute ghost and all the pumpkins.

It was a busy stitch day -

I am way behind on a stitch along....  This is Confetti of Hardanger that I started quite some time ago.  Today I added the satin stitches at the corners and started the little flower parts along the edge.  Mostly I am working 'in hand' which is different for me.  I find it fun, interesting and strange.

I had trouble sleeping last night so I was able to get some stitching done on the Halloween project.  I am ready to fill block number three.  I believe it is pumpkins and a ghost for this one.

Black Cats & Flying Bats Block #2

It is not quite done.  There are a few more leaves to be done.  There is also the verse that starts over the second block.  There wasn't much time to stitch today.  Too many things to do.  We did enjoy the sunshine.  The leaves and pine needles are falling like crazy.  Tonight we can expect some very cold temperatures.  Brrrr.

Spooky takes a step ahead

It was a chemo day so I worked on Spooky.  I like this as it is all one color and that makes it easier to work while on the go.  Due to increasing troubles with DH's hands and feet, they reduced the amount of chemo he was to receive today.  This meant it was only one hour long.  So we had a nice lunch out with my MIL and then home.  I decided to just keep working on Spooky.  The end is in sight.

Square #2 has begun

I didn't get a lot of stitching time today.  Does it count that I spent hours in my craft room this morning.  I put together a few projects, sorted some stash and generally cleaned up.  I have to take some time tonight to prep some stitching for tomorrow.  It will be another chemo day for my husband.  We are hoping to be done by early afternoon.

Black Cats & Flying Bats

By Blue Ribbon Designs.  It is all the wonderful Halloween colors that I like.  It is stitched on a spooky grey.  I have the first of eight blocks done.  Sorry I missed you all yesterday.  I had yet another ILL day due to a pill.  I spent most of the day in bed.  Then I had trouble sleeping last night but I was able to get a bit more stitching done.  Fall has arrived.  DH worked on the leaves today.  The whole place looks so much better.

Halloween Fairy by Mirabilia

I finished her!!!  I am so happy to have this one done.  She is cool.  There is a poem on the back of the chart that mentions violet wings.  I wish they were violet.... I wonder what happened.

My back yard.  We are seeing color as our leaves are changing.  This might be the peak weekend.  Any rain and wind causes more and more leaves to fall.  It is fun to watch the colors but I really wish we had some sunshine to enjoy it more.....

Finishes and a touch of fall

Max in the Adirondacks is finally framed.  He now hangs in a place of honor in my living room.  I just knew I had to stitch him when I saw him and especially after we moved here.

I also was able to frame the spring street scene by Stoney Creek.  I now want to have all the other seasons stitched also.  Maybe fall should be next?

We had a crazy busy weekend with all kinds of things getting done.  Included in our chores was adding a touch of color to the front door.  It was good to see my brother and we had a great time.  Lots and lots of things were accomplished in a very short period of time..... I am tired now.  I need a few quiet days of stitching.  That is is what I think anyway.

Right Wing is done

There you go.  Both wings are now complete.  Now I have a slip/hem under the skirt and legs with feet to deal with.  The end is in sight.  There is very little backstitch to this project and there will be beads.  After all the fairy is holding a wand with sparkle stuff at the end.

Trout Lake Pretty

Sorry - no stitching for me today.  It was a sick day and I spent most of the day in bed.  I am hoping that is the end of whatever it was and that I am on the mend.  Meanwhile I thought I would share what I consider a very pretty picture of a lake near by.  The colors are amazing.

Stash and the right wing

Yesterday was stash day.  Two projects arrived.  Victoria Sampler's Sturbridge Box and Cheerywood's Booltimore.  I look forward to working on both of these.

Meanwhile I did get some stitching done.  I started to work on the right wing.  (No, I am not talking about politics.  LOL)  The outline is done.  I still have the fill in on the edge parts.  Then we march on to all that green.

Spooky and some more of the fairy

It was a run to doctor appointment day.  So I grabbed one of the extra charts that came with the mystery project from Lizzie Kate.  This one is Spooky.  They are easy because they are all one color and work up quick and easy.

I was also able to work on the fairy enough to get her head done.  She is moving right along.

My sinus surgeon is pleased with my progress.  Come back in ten days.  DH had an MRI and then saw the chiropractor.  The verdict is bad arthritis in his neck which is causing all kinds of pain in his hands and arms.  So we can pursue those options and see if we can find some relief.  Tomorrow?  No doctors....  just errands and trips to the drug store.  ARGH - - it is certainly busy around here.
