Summer continues - - at least at my house

I continue to push on with the Summer Sampler project. I have so many people watching this project come into focus. I love the baseball glove. The ball looks real.

A bit of finishing completed

Does anyone really like to do the finishing? I go to 'my room' and I just push my way through all the stuff that needs to be done. I do like the results but it does take an effort to get me there and to get me to do it. On vacation I stitched the three ornaments and now they are done, done, done.

Stash Report from Market Day

Raise the Roof - Wise Old Owl - - the saying is one used by Kathryn Hepburn in On Golden Pond
Lizzie Kate - Christmas Kit and Raise the Roof Limited Halloween kit
New scissors and a portable ort bag. Victoria Sampler 'V' and floss pack. Then there is the two pieces of fabric. I love the red color. It is a rich Christmas (maybe) red. The opalescent purple/blue is another happy thing for me. All in all it was a good shopping day.

There is progress on Summer

I have been working away on Summer. I took this photo yesterday. The girl is showing good signs of looking a whole lot better. The music was a lot of backstitching. I am close to 'hitting a wall' and it would be the last wall to touch. The right hand lower corner will be done soon and the the whole thing might be done, done, done some time soon.

A bit of retail therapy

While on vacation, I went looking for a new bear. I found him. Meet Warren. I purchased him in Warrensburg, NY. He is sitting on a quilt that I just had to buy to keep him warm. I am quite happy with my purchases.

Jeanne had goose bumps

I delivered the Elegant Stitch basket, basket fob, needle book, scissors fob, envelope and basket liner to Jeanne today. This project was developed to benefit breast cancer organizations. Sue Gastler, a dear friend of Jeanne's, designed the basket fob. I have the chart signed by the main designer. I delivered all of this to Jeanne this morning for her birthday. She was overwhelmed and said she had goose bumps. I had been working on the various pieces for five years. I knew that Jeanne would appreciate it and would love the tie in to Sue. It was fun giving it to her today.

yet another Halloween ornament finished -- -

Well, not really 'finished' yet. I started to stitch this while on vacation. I found it the Just Cross Stitch Halloween issue. The design is by Sweetheart Tree. I am thinking of mitering the corners and finishing the back with some simple stitches, while using cardboard and batting to puff it up. Time will tell..... I feel a finishing day coming on.

This was my view

This was my view from the front porch of the cabin on the lake. I love to watch the water. It is the most calming thing in the whole world to me. I could sit there and stitch the day away. I can close my eyes and feel like I am there again.

Halloween is still on my mind

I stitched the next piece for an ornament exchange. I had been searching for good patterns to use when I found a magazine with an afghan Halloween pattern. I took one small piece because I really liked the colors. This was stitched on black, which has it's own challenges. I really like the way this one came out. The colors just seem to float on the fabric.

Halloween Approaches

While on vacation I did get some stitching done. I took home a few Halloween ornaments to work on. I am signed up for a couple Halloween ornament exchanges and besides, I just love the colors of Halloween. I need to get busy and get these done. This one is by Just Nan and was called Batty Jack. WhimZis are so much fun to do and so easy to do the finishing. Yeah!!!!

American Doll is ready for winter

While I was home on vacation, my Mother In Law showed me some of her own talents. She is making hats, sweaters and scarves for American Dolls. I think this would be a great Christmas idea. The photos don't seem to show all the detail but I just love the idea and the plan.

The red outfit is a head band, like ear muffs type thing with the scarf. She is ready to go skating on the pond.

I am back from vacation

Sorry everyone that was concerned when I didn't post for so much time. I was on vacation! Jack and I drove (yes, drove our car) to New York to see family and friends. I will post a few photos of the great lake we spent so much time on. We really got a good chance to relax and spend time with family. It was great. There are so many people that do so much to make this a happy time for us. Thank you all. I will be thanking them personally. We are very happy to be home. We missed two hurricanes while gone. Great timing for us. LOL.

I did do some stitching and I will get photos posted soon. First I best get some groceries purchased and laundry done. It is great to be back.

Shhh - it's a surprise

I spent the last few days working my fingers to the bone. I plan to make a gift of these pieces. I will unveil the whole deal when I get it done. It is almost there.

Summer Continues

I have been very busy with lots of different things. I will post a photo of where this project stands for now. It needs backstitching. Then that little lady will really stand out. This project is now better than half way done and I am glad. Hopefully I will get some time to work on it again soon. I have a few other things I am also working on.
