Rolling in Stash

Ok - - here we have a Blue Ribbon design to do that long line of small squares - -(remember the patriotic row?) well now we have Halloween. Then we have Victoria Sampler - arghhhh when can I start these???? I love the Gingerbread house. The roll of banding is replacing the banding I have used in just one year. I love that stuff for envelopes and needle rolls.

Four Seasons are Done!

I used the summer and autumn banners as teaching tools. Now I have them all done. I need to make the hangers and these can be displayed. I am quite pleased with the way they came out.

Tip: for cutting out the banner

I pull out the thread closest to the stitching. This will leave a channel to put the scissors and do all the cutting out.

Vacation Stitching

Okay - I did stitch while on vacation. Selecting what to stitch is every so important. This is the Winter Soltice and Spring time band samplers for a series I started long ago. Then I was trying to show others how to do the button hole stitch. I started treating the band samplers as banners but I needed to finish the other two seasons. Here they are.

More wonderful scenic photos

One evening, while returning from dinner, I stopped to take a few photos. The lake (Lake George) is so beautiful and I love the colors in the clouds. Our trip was wonderful. We were blessed with wonderful weather (except it was cold a few nights). We had a fire in the fireplace, wonderful dinners out, great friends and family -- what more could you ask.....

I promise to start discussing stitching again soon. Laundry, unpacking, groceries and such are keeping me busy. Not to mention the mountain of mail and email I need to address!

I have been on vacation - -

This is just one of the views I have enjoyed this last week. I was up on Whiteface Mountain in upstate NY. It was very cold up there that day. I must have seen one billion or more trees on that one day alone! I promise to get back to stitching and posting soon. I just wanted to tease you a bit with this wonderful view.

ARhhhhh - I found a boo boo

I was proud of myself. Today I did two rows of four sided stitch in order to put these two pieces of fabric 'together'. This has been a problem and bug to me for many years. I think the seamed edges look okay but the outside border on the top is definitely too far out and needs to be restitched. Argghhhhh.

The crochet bug has hit?

I am working on a 'sampler afghan' done with crochet. I am clueless on some parts but the one on the left looks okay. The first one will have to be redone. Breathe - - I don't need another hobby --- I don't need another hobby..... LOL.

Winter Sampler Framed

I received this back from the framer. I think it looks great. It goes with it's fellow seasonal guys. The photo doesn't do them justice.

Isn't he grand?

There is a bit of history on this one. I taught my friend, Linda, how to stitch with this project. I was working on it when she expressed an interest. I turned it over to her. Ever since I finished it I have thought that I should make a pillow and present it to her. I think every stitcher should have their first piece. We both worked on it but I am sure it will hold a special place for her. I made it into a pillow. I think it turned out great.

Happy Birthday Jeanne

I made another Needle Nest. I used left over pieces of floss (don't tell Jeanne). You really only need one strand of 18" of a color to do the square with double floss and the number beside the square. Then I personalized it for her.

Just a few more done!!!

I started a production line and was able to get a lot done in a short period of time.
