I am dreaming - -

of next year in the Adirondacks. This chair looks lonely. It makes me wish I was already there.
Here is our Bedford Falls. The snow is wet and sticky. Merry Christmas to all. I hope it is a blessed day for all my friends and family.

Merry Christmas Everyone

St. Louis is having a white Christmas. This is a dream come true for me. I love seeing the snow. I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday.

Thank you Betsy for the great photo.

Four Seasons

At the request of a follower - - here is a photo of the four seasons Scrapbook pieces. I am quite proud of these. There is also one for Christmas alone. I might have to dig that out of my stash and get that one done also.

A day time shot of the tree and a finished tree

This is our tree in the day light. My house looks like a mess! Argh. The Santa hat on the chairs are always fun. The arm of the couch is covered with home made Christmas Stockings. Oh - The Santa tea pot box finish is hiding behind the iPod player.

Here is the Mill Hill tree with all it's beads, fringe and hanger.

Our tree and a new tree

This is our tree at dusk. As you can see, there are two smaller trees also there. Those trees are up all year round with the ornaments changing with the holidays and seasons.
Now we have the start of another Mill Hill ornament. The cross stitch is done. Beads come next and then a quick finish.

Monday, December 20, 2010

Here he is!

Here is Mill Hill's Santa with all the beads, the beaded hanger and fringe applied. He even has a couple of dangling bells on the end of his hat.

Santa is Coming

This is a Mill Hill kit. The cross stitch is done - - next we need beads!!! The white part looks bumpy because it is specialty stitches.

Under The Tree by LHN

Well, it is done. I love the garland which is a blend of beads, cross and straight stitches.

A bit of evergreen and a package

I added a couple of things to the project. There is supposed to be more greenery below the floor but I am thinking of not including it. This one is already big enough and I don't really want to put a date on this one.

Back to business

Stitching does continue. We now have a toy soldier to with my Raggedy Ann. The tree looks a bit sparse. Stay tuned to see more.

Shoe lace finish

Ha Ha Ha - - Nickademus is done and I found a short shoe lace in my edging box so I used it to put and edge on this little ornament. I think it adds to whole silliness of this project.

Victoria Sampler's Christmas Tree

This came from an old Just Cross Stitch magazine. I purchased the accessory pack and it was missing parts. They had planned for it to be finished as a scissors case but I like the ornament.

Monday, December 13, 2010

Baby Update and another finish

Look at Landon!!! Triple G (Great Great Grandma otherwise known as Mot-Mot) this one is for you!!
Yes, I got him finished. I used a light blue felt on the back and a blue hanger. Simple but cute.

Under the tree

This is a Little House Needleworks ornament. Raggedy Ann and a toy soldier will be under the tree. I am thinking of making some changes to this chart. Time will tell.

Saturday, December 11, 2010

A bit of lace -

I did the finishing on this one. I stitched it early this year and just now got it ready to display. The lace just fit around it. I love the basic red and white colors.

Snow Merry by Homespun Elegance

Well, it is stitched and the charm is now attached. I used some left over fabric that was overdyed and I really like the way it turned out. I think some simple finishing is called for. I am on a roll getting ornaments done. I need to as my supply of 'give aways' is too low for this time of year.

Stitching is still going on

The holidays loom in our house. I am still trying to finish quite a few ornaments for this holiday season. I am still stitching some ornaments I hope to give away this season. ARgh!! Meanwhile, cleaning, shopping, wrapping, decorating, baking and the list goes on and on. Add to that hours spent house hunting for a new place in New York - - my head spins when I consider the list of things to do. Meanwhile this little guy is coming along. He now has a tree, a few birds, a banner and the border. He is close to being done. Then I will need to finish him. I seem to be on a roll of doing ornament after ornament. Hey - it's Christmas and it is a good thing to be working on.

Snow Wishes is ready to go!

Finishing again. This accessory pack came with the wire for the hanger and the buttons. I used overdyed wool for the actual pillow.

Frosty Blue with some extra sparkle

This ornament was shown with beading for the fringe edging. I decided to try it out with tinsel garland. I think he came out great. Don't worry the hanger did get straightened out. The tinsel garland will be included with the kits I am making for the ornament kit exchange group. Along with a template for the circle. I just put some blue felt on the back to cover up the gathering fabric. Frosty Blue looks pretty good to me. He positively shines!!!!

Homespun Elegance

Can you guess? We have another snowman. This is also from the JCS ornament issue from last year. I did some purchasing last year for the charms/fabric/etc and I am stitching them up for this year. So far we have a snowman bottom and a bunny rabbit.

Snow Wishes to you

Here he/she is. I love the hat!! It was certainly a quick stitch. I also have the finishing parts for this one. I am not sure I want to do it that way but we will see.

It's another Snowman

Can you tell? Well, here is the beginning of s snowman (or snow woman?). There are rosy cheeks and a bit of outlining with mixed threads. It is hard to see now but it will be coming. This is yet another design from the ornament issue 2009. This is by Cathy at Victoria Sampler.

Decorated for the holiday

Well, here it is. Buttons, beads and garland now decorate my tree. The star charm was missing from the accessory pack so I put this button star up on top. I won't be making the scissors keep but instead this will be an ornament. It's done!!!!

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

Add a little snow -

Now we have snow on our Christmas tree.

Monday, November 29, 2010

VS Christmas Tree

This comes from a JCS Ornament issue. Victoria Sampler designed this tree to be made into a scissors keep. I will make it an ornament. First step, in my mind, was putting on the green. White will come next.

Sunday, November 28, 2010

It's Frosty Blue

Complete. Well, I can't tell in this photo if he has his beads on. I think they are there. I think he is pretty cute. He needs to move into the finishing room. Then I need to make the kits for the other five ladies that will also be making him.

Saturday, November 27, 2010

More Frosty

Well, I keep working on the large snow flake that surrounds this little guy. I think I am going to like this guy. I found silver and blue sparkly garland to put on as an edging of this ornament. At least I think it will work. Time will tell.

Friday, November 26, 2010

Frosty Blue is coming to life

I find it hard to believe there are so many colors in this ornament. Lots of blues just one shade off from one another. There are two orange colors for the nose. One color does four stitches and the other color does six..... Lots of work but he looks pretty cool so far.

Snowmen Rule!

These are hard to see. We made twelve beaded snowmen with white arms and green & red scarves. They are Christmas ornaments and/or necklace bling for the holidays. Very cute.
Okay - - it is the start of a snowman. I am pleased that the fabric is showing up as well as it is. This is from this year's JCS ornament issue and will be my ornament kit exchange.

Merry Christmas Village and a sweet little boy

I pulled two strands of silk from another kit. It took almost all of the two 120" of white silk to finish this project. I am happy dancing with this completion. This has taken me most of two months. Perhaps the surgery slowed me down some?

Sweet little baby boy is taking a nap. He is smiles so nicely and appears to be very happy.

Friday, November 19, 2010

ARGHHHHH - - trouble in river city!

I got this far on the snowflake row and ran out of white silk floss!!! I need to finish this row and then there is another row of the lacy looking part. I wrote to Victoria Sampler but I haven't heard back. I am digging around trying to find more of this floss. ARGH!!!!

Thursday, November 18, 2010

Happy Christmas Village

Okay - - here we go. The back stitching is done, the cardinals are singing and everyone is ready for beads and just a bit of glittery floss. I will wait until I get the next two sections done. All white from here on out!!! Argh!!

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Let it Snow, Let it Snow

There - - the snowflakes are done. I can't say I enjoyed them. Now the tree on the left needs some snow and then on to the back stitching in the village.

Snowflakes and a whole lot of joy

Snowflakes are being done. This is difficult as the larger snowflakes are done with a single thread of white floss. It is difficult to bury the threads on the back. I did drag a bit with a single floss and I hope when this is mounted on a white back board it won't show through.
Meanwhile our family is growing. The phone lines and internet connections have been burning up with the news of Landon Taylor. This is a photo of my son, the new Grandpa, and the new little bundle of joy. I am over the top happy that the little lad was able to go home and all is well. Congrats to Hannah and I hope she can find a bit of time to sleep.

Saturday, November 13, 2010

Finally.

The verse is done. So now we move on to individual little crosses to be snow flakes and larger single thread stitched snowflakes all over the place.

Line 3 of 4 lines - -

I am not sure why I am fighting this so much. I normally like stitching over one but this is seems to be going very slowly for me. I probably need to do something else, something small, something quick.
