Day of Finishing Stuff

Hi there.  I seem to have lost my stitching mojo.  I hope I find it again soon.  Today I had workmen around the house and was 'home' for the day.  So I went to the craft room to see what I could see.

I have the fabric rolls for a new quilt.  Some day.  Some day.  I love all the colors.

Then I moved on to do the finishing on some cross stitch completed this year.  We have the Blue Ribbon Design Summer pillow.  Then I did Lizzie Kate's Do Your Best pillow and strawberry pin cushion.  Last is the Summer House Love project.  I love doing this stuff.  I should visit that room and do more of this. Next up - - stitch!

Another Patriotic Heart

I still have the darker green vines to do to complete this block to the level of the other blocks.  Then I can address the tops and bottoms, buttons and beads.  The end is in sight.

Happy Memorial Day 2014

Happy Memorial Day!  I just finished this part.  Perhaps it needs backstitching?  I wanted to get a post done so here you go.  Life has been crazy.  Spring clean up outside has been going on.  I hope to find the nerve to climb on the tractor and mow the lawn today.  (Wish me luck!)  I haven't had much time to stitch with home improvements, new curtains in the living room and kitchen, new furniture and life in general.  It is the start of the tourist season and traffic is certainly picking up.  I hope everyone takes a moment today to remember our military.  We owe them a lot.

Meet Uncle Sam!

I completed the main stitching on Uncle Sam today.  He still needs beads and buttons and stuff but the main stitching is done so I moved on to the next square with the flag pole.   I don't seem to find much time to stitch during the day any more.  Summer, unofficially, starts this weekend.  The whole area is springing to life.  I am busy with things around the house.  I hope that stops soon.

Patriotic Quadrille

I have been stitching.  I even sat on the deck and stitched a bit.  Now it is cooling down and too cold out there.  I started with the heart block.  It still needs beads and the top and bottom get stitching as well.  Then I moved on to Uncle Sam.  He needs 'over one' stitching to define his face and beads and such.  It is a great start.  I have missed cross stitch.

New Sweettheart Tree - Uncle Sam

The start of a new project is always fun... right?  I swear I stitched this outline seven times.  This is the Sweetheart Tree USA Quadrielle.  I have it outlined and now to fill in each part.  I made one of these several years ago. It was a Halloween project.  Can I get this done by July4th?

Busy Week?

I am not sure where the time goes.  This week flew by.  I just saw last Saturday's blog update stating that it was a hot day.  Not to worry, we have a frost warning tonight and I am thinking I better cover up the flowers out front.  When will summer arrive?

I have been stitching - some.  I have six little projects done.  I plan to do nine little pillows with this overall project.  I hope to see the next chart soon.

These little projects were fun and very quick to get done.  I am using scraps of fabrics and it is just plain fun.  Meanwhile I am busy with new furniture.  I had to wait quite some time for the new living room furniture.  I have pictures.  I have a new stitching nest.  I hope I get used to it soon.  LOL.

I do have to make a note of the green colors currently seen in the Adirondacks.  Spring is such a unique time and the colors are amazing.  All the shades of green are bursting on the mountain sides.  I love to see the greens.  I have to look hard now to see the neighbor's house.  The leaves are coming out and I won't see their house now until late fall.  Bye - Bye.

First HOT day!

Wow - it was extra warm today!!  It felt very strange.  By the time I realized that it was warm outside, it was cooler inside so I never did open up the windows.  I did get some cross stitch done.  It felt good to be working on cross stitch.

Started and finished today!  This is one small part of a Hands On Design named Gather Friends Close.  I plan to make all these little pillows with each small stitched part.

I finalized the Victoria Sampler Scissors fob.  I am ready to do the cutting and hardanger work.  Maybe tomorrow or maybe next week.  It isn't due until September so there is no hurry.

Meanwhile, I received the Weeks floss - Oscar.  I was able to finish up Lizzie Kate's Holly and Hearts.

Six days! I am so sorry - -

How is it that six days have gone by without an update on my blog?  Spring?  Trips and outside activities.  I am not sure but I have thought about giving the blog an update.  So here it is.  I have been stitching and quilting.  I have also been furniture shopping and trying to enjoy life in general.  Spring is arriving on my hill.  Trees have buds on them.  I have tulip leaves growing.  So there are signs of spring and life around here.  It is cold and damp today and it made for a good day to do some quilting.

Great progress.  I spent one whole day just doing the cutting.  Now I am putting it all together.  It is fun but geez there is a lot of work.

I am almost done with the scissors case for the Victoria Sampler's Stitcher's Heart.  I haven't been doing a lot of cross stitch of late but I want to get this one day soon  Hopefully it won't be so long before I do another update.  Hi everyone!  I am still here!

Needlebook done and the beginning of a quilt

I just today finished up the needle book cover.   I am waiting to do the hardanger parts when all the parts are done.  I still have the scissors case to make.  I also ran into a problem.  There should be a bead above the heart but I don't have a needle slender enough to fit through the beads.  ARGH!!  I am leaving it for now.

Yesterday I spent the whole day (except for a few errands) cutting the parts for a quilt I want to make.  Today the backing fabric arrived with the castle and the Downton Abbey name.  I am very excited about this quilt.  I have not pieced one quite this big before.  Wish me luck.
