A Good Start

I finished another model and decided to do some stitching for me. I started this pin cushion ball. There will be 18 small pieces that will be stitched and then sewn together into a ball. The design is by Twisted Oaks Designs and named Patchwork Garden Pincushion Ball. Today I did the outlining of the eighteen pieces. The chart called for six different fabrics.

This design has me thinking. What about doing something similar with Christmas designs. I will have to put that idea on the back burner while I finish this one. LOL.

Sorry for the delay

I haven't been posting much. I have been stitching up a storm. I am working on models and I can't share photos of them just yet. Sorry.

I am also dealing with a tooth problem. Yes Sir ee - - this is root canal number 13! I hope it is all over next week. Meanwhile my life has been a bit interrupted.

So I plan to dig down on the hard disk and find an older photo to share. We shall see what I find.

And the finishing continues

This was an easier finish. This is Just Nan's Over the Top tin and scissors fob. They are very pretty.

This series will continue with three more coming this year. I think the next one is Sizzle and will be out for the fourth of July.

Finishing Nightmare

I spent the whole day doing finishing. I figure about 8 hours and I have yet another 1 - 2 hours to go. I learned a lot. I am using some new quilting techniques to do my finishing. I do follow directions, for the most part. Today I have Victoria Samplers Where Stitchers Gather to show off. That is four separate pieces. Doing the lining - doing most of it by hand - - it is just a lot of work. I am pleased with the results and happy to show it off.

Just Nan Scissor Fob

This goes with the tin I did last week. This will be fold in half and then attached to scissors. This is very similar to the needle book that went in the Lady Bug. I really need to get some time for finishing.

New Design from PG Peddler

I did the model stitching last year for this one. I do like the frame Cheryl picked out.

Where Stitchers Gather Stitched

I have finished the various parts of this project. We have the project purse, the scissors case, the scissors fob and the needle book. I will have to plan a finishing day to get them all put together.

Happy Mother's Day

I just received a wonderful delivery. Tulips, chocolate and a card arrived via FedEx just moments ago. Thank you so much Buddy and Linda. The tulips are perking up with the water and food I gave them. The chocolate will be wonderful, I am sure. Thank you.

Stitchers Gather

I have been busy working on this Victoria Sampler project. It is called Where Stitchers Gather. I worked this week on ladies that gather to stitch. I love the wool that was used to stitch the one ladies hair and another ladies sweater. Very cool. I stitched this while I am going through a root canal. I will remember that little fact when this project I see in the future.

I still need to do the cutting on the hardanger heart and then do the filling stitches. I hope to do that tomorrow. Perhaps some finishing will happen this weekend. Then there is the scissors fob, the needle book and scissors case to complete. At least those are smaller!!!!

Quilt Progress is Slow

I took a photo of my quilt waiting for hand quilting. I did it one day and my fingers were hurting quite a bit. After that I just let it set there. I hope to get back to it soon. I have several other quilt projects waiting in the wings.

I had a suggestion to do all my text and then add photos. I will try it here and see what happens.
Very interesting - - the photo is still on top.

Where Stitchers Gather by Victoria Sampler. This first project is the pouch or envelope to carry all the other parts. That's why the swans are upside down now.... LOL. I spent the morning working on the Rhodes Heart Lace section. I stitched it twice. Arghhhhhh. Then I found an error that took some time to figure out.

I think it looks very pretty. Imagine it across the top of back flap.

Spring has arrived

The tulips are looking great. The fuzzy plant in the middle is Shazta Daisies - - I think. I am not much of a gardener. Neglect plants are all I can handle. I just love to see the tulips. Thank you neighbor Julia for planting them so many years ago.

Welcome everyone to the new blog space. I have been reading comments and it appears that the problems I had with Yahoo was affecting everyone. I will delete the old blog link from my regular signature after a bit of time.

I haven't been able to discover how to have this blog tell when someone comments so I don't always know to look. I know, I know - - it is something new and it will all be worth at some time in the future. LOL.

Just getting started - -

I am testing out the new blog space. I have many issues with my existing blog and I am looking to be able to do some different things. I know it will be difficult for some to locate the new blog space but after a bit everyone will find me.

This is an old photo of my current project. This is Where Stitchers Gather by Victoria Sampler. I have been working away at the first piece which is just like an envelope. This will later hold the other pieces and a stitching project.

The second photo was just taken today (May 3, 2008). I have the lower back done and the front of the envelope. Next is the flap that will meet up with the first part.

I haven't completed the hardanger heart yet. To complete that part I need to do some cutting and then special stuff. I fear this will make it more difficult to complete the rest of the stitching. So for now I will just keep going.

Hello World

Heart of America by Little House Needleworks.

I love this piece and it is quite impressive on the 29 count Glenshee distressed fabric. It looks old which is the effect I wanted.
