This Ruler Case is - -

taking longer than I figured.  I continue to work on it.  The little butterfly stitches were a bit of a challenge.  Now it is a buttonhole stitch that in itself is not hard but seeing anything on this fabric is a challenge.

On to the next piece ....

I started the ruler case for the set.  It was a very quiet day but I can't say I was getting a lot of stitching done.  Sleep feels much too wonderful right now.  Perhaps I will be up later tonight to get some more done.

Remember what I started yesterday?

I finished the biscornu today!!!  I just put it together.  I also worked on doing the prep for the other two pieces for this set.  I was so pleased with this that I had to take a photo of the whole group so far.

Box, scissors sheath and biscornu - - so far!!!

LHN is Done! Start something New!

Thank you to the kind observer that happen to notice I had made an error when putting in the alphabet.  It is was fixed.  The border is now done.  I am thrilled to have this on off the scroll bars.

I have so many things to work on.....  Somehow I picked the biscornu for the Nordic Needle set.  It should be a quick stitch and should help me get in the mode of doing hardanger.  I want to finish up the VS Love Is Patient.... project and all that is left is the hardanger.  A bit of practice on this one will get me ready for that.

Slowly I Creep -

I so wanted to have this done today.  I am working on the bottom border.  That's it!!!  Those scallops of red/brick are all that is left.  Almost Yippee Skippy!!!!

Alphabet Done!

I did complete the alphabet this afternoon.  I am pushing to get this project done so I can move on to other things.  This self imposed 'one project at a time' requirement does get crazy some times.  I am getting so close to having this one complete!!!  Oh, I just noticed that I have been able to post five days in a row.  Wow - it has been some time since I was able to do that.

Alphabet Time

Progress is being made.   I did get some housework done today.  Tomorrow I have a few errands to run.  The temperatures are changing and fall is coming.  It is my favorite time of year.  Once again I wear my favorite sweat shirt jacket almost every day - at least part of the day.  Absolutely wonderful.  I love fall.  Pumpkins, cool temperatures, pretty leaves..  Oh, and the smell of freshly sharpened pencils!!!  School supplies are wonderful.

Quiet Day, Nice Lunch and a bit of stash

It was a quiet day here on the hill.  I love looking outside and seeing all the clearing and improvements that have been made.  My bird feeder has been moved to just outside the kitchen window.  I watch the birds all the time.  I did get some stitching done.  I also went out for a nice lunch with my son.

The mail lady brought me some stash!  Always a good thing.  I believe this might be the last part of this particular club.  I have two now to work on.

Happy Birthday!!  I know it seems early.  The class begins November 2.  My birthday is November 3.  I have hours and hours of homework to do for this project before that time.  This is Victoria Sampler's Gingerbread Tree Etui.

Part 3 has arrived

Almost done.  I must be because Part 3 arrived in my mail box today!!  I have that small corner left to do to finish Part 2.  My glasses have been fixed and I am enjoying my stitching in between many trips to the dump getting rid of left over building supplies.  Argh!  I am glad that is done.

Happy dancing and gifts

A new student, Sarah, sent me this.  She finished it in just over a week.  She didn't like the way the back stitching looked so she took it out.  We can talk about that when I see her again.  Meanwhile, let's all cheer as Sarah is looking forward to her next project.  Another stitcher is born!!

My Sister In Law, Terrie (Sarah's Mom) brought me my Christmas present last night.  Apparently these wooden looking things fall off the plants in Arizona.  She was on a mission to find a use for them and made reindeer.  This will hang on the door come this holiday season.  How cool is that?

It is quiet at my house.  I tried to do some stitching.  My glasses (new last week) need some adjustments.  I need to get that done soon.  Meanwhile I did a bit of stitching.  My cold is easier to deal with today so that is a good thing.  I plan to accomplish a few chores each day and then get some serious stitching done.  It is a plan.......

Welcome!

Welcome to the new front of the house!  The new steps went in over the weekend and now we have new railings.  It is now so easy to walk up the front door.  I am over the top thrilled with the progress and so very grateful to all those that made it happen.

Meanwhile woods are being cleared around the house.  There is land now behind the fire pit!!  I am constantly amazed at how much the woods have grown in toward the house in just two years.
Now when you come up the driveway, you see the house much sooner.  There is a lot of woods cleared and pushed back.  There is even room for a large wooden carved bear that I might find some day soon.

I do have to say thank you all the people that helped to make it happen.  I am currently sick with a head cold.  (My first is over two years.)  I couldn't stand to be outside much today.  I hope to be feeling better soon.  I also need to mention that I have been teaching a few people stitching... I need to add some photos of one that is almost done by my niece.  Today I had two more students.

Saratoga, new steps and a birthday or two!!!!

A memorial race was held at Saratoga Race Track for my father that died in 1969 and was a major member of the Saratoga group.  Yes, that is me next to my brother and next to my twin  Then there is is Andrew, my nephew and my brother in law, Mike.  It was a great day and so wonderful to be able to share this with my family.

Meanwhile the front of the house got an update. Here is part of the new steps that are being installed.  It will be so much better with shorter steps and hand rails.....
Meanwhile, my big brother turns 65 tomorrow and is here for a visit.  He has been helping to get so many things done for me and the house.  My twin, Betty Ann, put our Saratoga photo in a box for him and gave it to him for his birthday.  It was very nice and wonderful and everyone enjoyed seeing the photo.

Happy 65th to Mr. Fix It in my life.  LOL.  This was by brother's birthday day that we enjoyed today.

Here he is just before he cut into the magic cake.  It was a good day.  So much fun.  Family is everything.  Stitching?  Well, I have been teaching a few people to start stitching but my own stitching has taken a major back seat with all the construction and activity around the house.

Section 3 is coming along

I now have days where I don't even pick up a needle and then I have days that I get a lot of stitching done.  I worked on the fall section with the pumpkins today.  It is really coming along.  I wonder if I can get this done before the new chart arrives?????

Tractor 101 and more tree stitching

I am making progress on the middle section of this project.  I did change the bird's peak to Whiskey as the color as I thought yellow was better than the brown the chart called for.  I believe this is a mistake on the chart.  I might also mention that I changed out the fabric to a linen rather than the Weeks Dye Works fabric.  I always have trouble with that fabric and feel it is too loose.  I like this fabric better.

Here I am parking the tractor in the garage.  I did mow the lawn and it looks good.  I had some help to be sure.

LHN Part 2 - middle section

I worked on the center tree today.  It is really coming along.  Then I did some lawn work this afternoon.  I drove the tractor and mowed the lawn.  So many things I need to learn.

LHN Part 2 Mystery

I have hardly had a moment to stitch.  There is so much going on around here.  Summer is in full swing and the place is hopping.  It is great to get so many things done around the house but it does cut into my stitching time.  I did get the first part of part 2 done.  I am hoping to move on to the middle part next.
