The lights are on!!!!

I haven't spent a lot of time working on my stitching.  I did get the lights on as in the yellow was added to the windows of the house.

My craft room is looking good.  Even better is the new entertainment center created by my son.  I love it.  The one cabinet is full of music and movies.  It is full, full, full.  I haven't had access to my music (other than on the iPod) for a couple of years.  I spent most of the day filling those drawers.  The other cabinet is full of equipment.  I love that it is all hidden away.

Sunshine stitching and a new front door look

I was able to sit out side and stitch today!!!  It was almost too hot to stitch.  Wow.  I did enjoy it and then I took a nap.  LOL.  Meanwhile I now have a house.  I think it was good progress.

Meanwhile, I decided to add some color to front door wreath.  Welcome spring and come to my house!!  I had the windows open for part of the day.   I was exhausted last night after washing windows.  I quit that project for a day or two.  I will get back to it but for now stitching was calling my name.

Spring got in the way - -

The temperatures have turned a bit warmer.  I haven't washed the windows in two years and it shows!!  I started the cleaning today and have about half of them done.  They look great but I am fear I won't be climbing any ladders tomorrow.  I am also spending some time in my craft room.  Today I organized the Silk n Colors and put away some other things.  The progress is very slow.

A basket of flower and some alphabet work

I am working on it.  I am sitting and looking at my craft room.  I don't visit it much now.  I need to get in there and do some rearranging and reorganizing.  I have a new chair coming in the next few weeks.  I did make a start on it today.  I moved a few things and started cleaning up some piles of stuff.  Frankly, it looks worse than it did several hours ago.  That's okay.  It will be worth it when I get it done.  I can't seem to spend more than ten minutes in there at a time.  It is an emotional block that I have to work through.

A new deck, some daisies and my new ride.

The materials for the new deck arrived yesterday.  I am very excited about this.  I hope to be stitching on that new porch and deck in the near future.  It doesn't look like much now but it should be wonderful.

I have been working on the daisies.  I seem to have my stitching mojo returning.  I want to stitch all day when I really do need to maintain a house, do paperwork, go places, etc.  LOL.

I never did post a photo of my new ride.  It is 2013 Toyota Highlander.  I love it.  It is just my size.

Mail Art and Progress!!!

Leana sent me this beautiful mail art.  It has a wonderful card in it.  I think this is so beautiful because it is so simple. It arrived without any outside covers and it arrived in perfect shape.  It is so nice to get surprises in the mail.  Thank you so much Leana.

I FINISHED PART ONE!!!!  Yippee Skippy!  The part one charts have been out away and part two is in full force.  It feels good to have finished something, anything!!

Tree with flowers is coming along nicely

I have been moving right along.  As many other stitchers already know, it is difficult when you have to stitch across the edge of one pattern, match it up with another pattern and try to continue on.  It is all but impossible when there are four pages all coming together.  I am finding it quite troublesome.  I will be glad to be totally on part two.  It should be happening soon.

More Lady Bugs and a new bunny

I did make some progress today.  It was a quiet day on the hill.  Other than the power outage for over two hours.  We are experiencing heavy winds and something must have happened.  I was able to keep stitching.  The generator kicked in.  I am not sure why it still makes me very nervous to have the power out.

Alphabet - Lady bugs - Flowers

I finished the bee hive and the bees.  Then I moved on to the next section. This is from Part two of the mystery sampler.  (Blue Ribbon Design's Mystery Sampler).  I feel like I am making some progress.

I have the window open by my stitching nest.  It feels so good to have a gentle breeze blowing in.  Spring is actually arriving in our area.

A new Bee Hive and some stash

I worked on the bee hive today.  I did have some household tasks to complete so I didn't get as much time to stitch today.  I hope to get more done tomorrow.

The mail man did bring me some new goodies.  3 Lizzie Kate Limited Edition kits.  One by Cherished Stitches.  Charts from Sue Hillis and Rosewood Manor.  It is fun to think about stitching each and every one of these.

My thoughts and prayers are with those in Boston tonight.

Sunday Stitching -

I stitched today.  There was a little bit of sunshine late today and I quick took a photo in the sunshine.  I am quite pleased with the progress I am making.  It feels good to be stitching again.  This project has some specialty stitches which I enjoy doing.  So far this is a fun stitch.  The Frog didn't visit as much today and that was a good thing.

Don't anyone faint.....

I stitched today. I also started trying to get caught up on shows that have been recording all along and I have been ignoring.  I worked on the tree and I think it was good progress.  I started on the squirrel but he is identifiable yet.

I also had a surprise in the mail today.  Another mail art.  This one is beautifully done.  It comes from Susanne in Germany.  I love the lining and the tree.  A tree stands firm, bends with the wind and keeps on growing even during difficult times.

I love the card, the thought, the effort, everything......

Thank you all for comments and emails.  I am doing fairly well.  I have my moments.  Some days are worse than others.  With doctor appointments done and behind me, paperwork is coming along, I am hoping that things calm down and I can begin my new normal.

Where does the time go?

Hello to all my dear followers.  I am so, so sorry that I haven't been posting.  I have been stitching, as you can see.  I have 'touched a wall' as the section on the left goes all the way to the bottom of the design.  Stitching is still a struggle.  I want to stitch.  I want to stitch for entire day but that is just not happening.  Tomorrow will mark 4 weeks since I lost my best friend and it still hurts a tremendous amount.  Hardly a day goes by that I don't get struck with tears and anguish.  That horrible day seems so long ago and it seems like it was just yesterday.  So much has happened.  I am making strides.  I am getting things done.  One positive note is that I signed up for a stitching retreat in October with Thea Duck.  I am thrilled and October seems so far away.  I am sure it will get here quick enough.  Today as the snow, sleet and ice are coming down, it is hard to believe that spring is here and summer is coming.  Fall seems like an impossibility!

Life is crazy.

I did finish the blue flower section and then I decided to move on down the left edge of the project.  I wish I had been able to do more stitching today but it was not to be.  I had my third MRI on my knee today.  They think they have enough information to decide what to do next.  I hope so because I can't do another MRI.  Then I was home for a few hours and then I left to go get new glasses.  Yes, I can see better.  I am still adjusting to them.  Then it was a crazy afternoon.  I hope tomorrow is quiet.  I need some quiet.

Stiching is wonderful in so many ways!!

I did stitch today!!  I am happy, proud and thrilled with my progress.  I finished the yellow flower part, did the row of daisies, umbrella and started work on the blue flowers.

Meanwhile I have this absolutely wonderful mail art to share.  This arrived from Finland on Saturday.  It contained a sympathy card from one of my wonderful stitching on line friends.  It is a combination of cross stitch and quilting.  It is absolutely wonderful.  I am a bit unsure of who it came from as I am having trouble reading the signature.  Who ever you are, it made my day.  It made my heart sing.
This is the back side of the envelope.  It closes with a zipper and can be used as a small pouch.  Also a homemade card.  It was a great day to see this.

Framing Projects

How wonderful is this?  My brother made this very special frame specifically for this project.  It turned out great and now hangs in the spare bedroom.  Apparently this frame took a lot of work and forethought to come up with this.  I am very happy and proud of this particular frame.

Blue Ribbon Designs, Sweet Somethings?   I don't remember the name of this one.  I do like the frame on this and now I have to decide where to hang this one.

Another Stoney Creek Village scene.  This one is for Autumn.  I will hang this one with the previous one I completed.  So now I have spring and fall.....  summer next?  Who knows...

Stitching Revisited

I did housework and household stuff this morning.  I put together all the stuff that goes into the new vehicle around noon today.  Then I sat down and stitched!!  I did make some progress.  It felt good to be stitching.  I still have a lot of things to do around the house but I can't do it all in one day.  I have to take some time to slow down and stitching helps me do that.

Slowly but surely - -

My life is a whirlwind at this point.  I had hoped that I could get to my blog on a daily basis but it just hasn't been happening.  I do stitch a little.  I have been to many doctors and so far they are all happy with how I am doing.  My knee guy wants and MRI because I may have torn something but that will be happening soon.  I have also traded in two vehicles and picked up a brand new one.  New glasses are on order.  Perhaps that will help with my stitching.  Things do seem a bit blurry.  I want to wish all a Happy Easter - a bit late.  We had a nice dinner here with family.  I am hoping things will calm down soon.  I really do miss my stitching......
