Outside border done - -

This is stitched on 32 count. I am hoping it will fit on the front of the needlebook. It was to be a big sampler but I don't need to hang one more thing on the walls and as a cover to the needle book, I think it will be quite interesting.

Avoidance

It is official. I am avoiding the back stitching on Max. I started this today. That is a needle beside the stitching. Yes, it is tiny.

Two More Done!

I finished Double Trouble. Very cute. And this ornament had a sister in the JCS Halloween Ornament issue:
Boo Bunny. I had left over floss and beads from the first one so I went ahead and did the second one. Very cute.

Double Trouble

Victoria Sampler's Double Trouble from the JCS Halloween book this year. I decided to stitch it on 32 count, with one thread. I didn't get very far as I was busy this morning diving into stitchery books and dreaming of a new project. Stay tuned for some other new stuff.

Halloween Rules and a touch of color in the trees

Here it is!!! All done. I am quite pleased with it. What to do next? I love that question.
Here is the last one. Be Spooktacular!
Meanwhile I tried to get a photo of the little bits of color that are just now arriving in the area. Every day I see just a bit more. Fall is coming. I love to see the leaves turn and I saw a shower of leaves dropping today and it made my heart sing!

A bit of traveling and some stitching

Tonight we went for a boat ride. The trees are just starting to turn and I could not capture that in a photo. Trust me - it was a great night for a ride. We had fun.
Last night we went on a train ride. The event was called Als on Rails. Beer and trains! This was one view early in the evening. The trains has troubles, we were two hours late getting back and they ran out of beer. It was still fun. Lots of laughs on that trip.
Howl at the Moon.... I just might tonight. I can see stars out there. One more little chart and this one will be done. Border and buttons will have to be completed of course.

Greet a Ghost!

Fall is here!! It is my favorite time of year! We could certainly use some sun shine. I did get some stitching done. The trees are starting to turn. I have seen some reds, yellows and oranges. The next few weeks should be beautiful.

Brew Some Fun!

Today was a busy day. Errands and then I made apple sauce. I have five containers of the stuff in the refrigerator. Next up will be either a pie, crisp or a cake.... what to do? what to do?

This morning I did some stitching and finished Brew Some Fun. Only three move little banner parts to go!!! My mind is already thinking - 'What's next?'. I should do the back stitching but it is so much fun to consider what to stitch next.......

Meanwhile... an explanation. Alfred was a foster bear. My SIL left him here for the summer while she and her husband went on the three month trip to Alaska in a trailer. No room for Alfred. I later found out his name is Theodore. (The proper name for Ted E Bear.) Anyway, we had fun with Alfred but he went back with his Mom for now. I am sure she has a nice safe place for him to winter. Maybe I will get a photo or two to share with my blog members... Hint. Hint.....

Happy Apple Day!

Today we went to Hick's Orchard and Store. We had a good time. It was a pretty drive. The trees are just starting to turn colors.
I did a bit of stitching. In between other activities I did sit and stitch.
Alfred left here last night. We are sad. He has another adventure planned for the winter so it was time to say Good Bye.
Apples, a tee shirt, some honey, pumpkin butter, apple crisp and granola make up my apple stash. We won't even mention the cinnamon doughnuts. Oh My!!!

Lazy Day Today with Stitching

I finished the Stay Up Late yesterday. It was a busy day with decorating for fall, cleaning and then a crafter's night. It was fun. The Comfort Cake was marvelous!
Today I stitched Mind Your Mummy. The skeleton will get black button eyes. On to the next one. Of course, I am also keeping up with the border. I look at Max every now and then and think that I really should get to that back stitching. Maybe later this week I will do that. For now, it is Halloween all the way.

I did get some stitching done - -

Carve a Pumpkin is done. The lower right pumpkin will have black (tiny) buttons for eyes. Really, I didn't forget the eyes.....
Then I moved on to Stay Up Late. I am so close to having this one done.

A very nice fall day around here.

I did finish this part. I am trying to keep up with the border as I go. It was a very chilly day this morning when we got up. A quick fire in the fire place and all was well. Long sleeves and sweaters are just lovely. That and an afternoon nap makes for a good day.
I started on this one. I was hoping to get it done but I seem to think I can accomplish more than I actually can. Well, this is half done.

Strange Day!

I thought I might like to see the spare room without Alfred. He does take command of whatever room he is in. So he is going to hang out in the laundry room and greet my back door visitors for awhile. He look comfortable there - doesn't he?

I wish I had put some more time on the XS project. Where does the time go? The repair guy was here trying to help with figuring out what was wrong with the oven. We are getting good at resetting the temperatures now. I hope that is done.

Temperatures have turned colder. We had a fire in the fire place this morning to take the chill off. It is very early to be worried about cold temperatures. The weather guy is suggesting that fall colors will be changing by this weekend. I do see some reds and yellows already. I will have to get some photos when our trees start changing.

You Might Ask - -

How I spent my day. Max is relaxing while I gather the ability to start the back stitching. I wanted to work on Halloween. I did for a bit of the day. Then I closed all the windows as it is cold here today. I thought about a nice fire in the fire place tonight. BUT I can't see the fire from my chair. So, DH, Please, please, please - - let us move all the furniture in the living room and then move it all back where it started as my idea won't work. Let's stretch our muscles and work up a sweat so a fire will not be necessary. What did we accomplish? I found baby toys under the couch. I did get to clean up the dust under all the furniture. The room is basically back where it started by my chair is exchanged with DH's matching chair. Now everything I use around my chair is on the wrong side!!! I can see out the front door better. I do have a different view of the yard. I will be able to see the fire place, if we ever cool off enough to turn it on. I have yet to decide about the other side of the room. ARGH!!! Why does rearranging one room take over the whole house? Meanwhile I did do a bit of cross stitch. I worked on another rule for Halloween. Meanwhile I also made a trip to a local post office to mail off a new mail art. There was quite a debate but I did get the task accomplished. Cross your fingers that it arrives safely in it's new home.

Drum Roll Please!

Here is the final corner done, done, done!!! I am so happy. There will be dancing in my living room as soon as I can stand. I did a bit of non stop stitching this afternoon to get this done. I don't want to think how long I stayed in my chair in order to finish this one.
So here Max is. I still have weeks of back stitching to do. I plan to take a break from Max. I have been pushing to get it to this point. The 'base stitching' is now done. I plan to enjoy some Halloween colors for a bit. Max can rest until I get back to do the back stitching. I am so happy!!

Cruise on the lake and some stitching too!

It was a hazy day but it was not hot, not cold, a bit windy but a great day to take a cruise on the beautiful Lake George.
That is not our ship. That is a smaller one called the Minne Ha Ha. The lake was a bit hazy. I still enjoyed it.
Oh, and I did some stitching. Only that lonely corner left to do.

Slowly we creep - -

Sorry, my mind is wondering. I did fill in the back ground behind this shelf. Then I started to work on the brown that will be an oar some day. I seem to work and work and ever so slowly I am getting it done. I spent some time in my room today. I decided to finish up the work on my mail art. It is due to be mailed out this week. This process involved using the sewing machine. That involved finding threads, organizing threads and everything else that is necessary for sewing. So I did spend some time doing all that stuff. It is all good.

Box of Lures?

Today I worked on the blue and yellow box. I have it about done. The black line dividing the photo is the lamp cord. Over the shelf and over to that cord is all black back ground. I am quite close to finishing this.

Great Stitching Day

Ahh Autumn is here. The air is cool, the sun is shining, all is well.

I was able to devote quite a bit of time to stitching today. I filled in around and up to the top where the blue and dark fish are. Then I moved over and did a lot of grey above the fish plaque.
In case we all forget the big picture, I rolled it out and took a shot of the big project. Wow - - the back stitching is going to be a bear!

Progress is made

That is how I feel tonight. Progress has been made. I worked on the branch shelf and the fish below the blue fish. Next up, I want to fill in that space to the right of the shelf support.

Blue fish and background

Today I spent a very pleasant afternoon with Linda stitching at the kitchen table. I was able to finish the blue fish and then do the black background over to that part. We have now had days and days of rain. ENOUGH ALREADY!! Some sunshine will be most welcome. I am now about halfway across the top. Is the end in site? Do I see some light at the end of that tunnel? I hope so.

Quack, Quack

It has been seriously raining all day today. I keep checking to make use my toes are not forming webs. Meanwhile, working around a great afternoon nap, I worked on the red and green fish. Next? A blue fish. Dr. Seuss where are you when I need you?

Blame it on Linda - -

I did not get a lot of stitching done today. I stitched a bit this morning. Then I went out to lunch. I was home about an hour before she called and we went shopping with the baby. Landon is getting so big. He went to the doctor today for a check up and he is doing fantastic. This afternoon he was a bit fussy. Later we dropped him off with Mom and then Linda and I went for ice cream. On the way home we decided to go out to dinner with the men folk. So now at the the end of the day.... I look and I didn't get a lot of stitching done. Maybe tomorrow. Meanwhile I can fun.

Playing Catch Up - -

We have been busy. Family BBQs, stitching friends, rain and the holiday weekend have all be happening around here. Today while stitching with a friend (a very pleasant afternoon) I did the edges to my mail art. This is due mid September so I have to get busy on this one.
I have been working a bit on Max.
I also put some knots in my Teresa Layman project. I am working on the orange back ground.

Slowly we creep...

I am working on fish and a duck's head..... It is rather slow. My sister saw the whole project today and it is big. I should take a whole project photo soon. Mostly I work on the smaller sections. I could also get thinking about back stitching. There will be a full week of just back stitching.

Max is coming along slowly....

Yesterday was a very busy day. I didn't sit down until 11 pm. I did a bit of stitching yesterday and some more today. It seems to be going very slowly. I am working on fish. Green fish, black fish and grey fish. Perhaps Dr. Seuss could help me out with this.
