I did the sewing and final steps to make 10 sets of 4 coasters. Each set is tied up with a ribbon. These will be gifts given for visitors to my house. I was able to get all the 'sewing' things done so I could put away the sewing machine until after Christmas. Whew! It feels great to have those things done. Now to more cooking, baking and wrapping.

Love the coasters, can you share where the pattern comes from :)
I copied a friend's project. You need a 5" square of bottom fabric, 5: square of fleece/quilt batting, four strips of 5" squares pressed in half. Layer the batting, the top fabric (face up), layer the four strips woven into each other (like you would close the top of a box>?). Stitch all around, turn inside out with the folded parts on top and the base on the bottom. I to trim the corners a bit to make it easier to turn inside out. I hope that helps.

Hi Taffy, so the village is stitched with 1 thread over 1 instead of 2 over 2? I just purchase those patterns and am curious about the change.

Yes, I decided to change the pattern and stitch it over one. I will warn everyone that there are quarter stitches but not that many. If I was to start over, I might change to a smaller count (32 or 40 count) and stitched over 2 because of the quarter stitches.
