Sorry, sorry, sorry

The progress at camp continues.  I know because I was there yesterday!  Believe it or not, I was able to get there just two weeks after surgery.  The new mantle, made from a barn beam saved from the old camp was a delight to see.

I should have gotten back here sooner.  I am home!  I am doing fantastic according to doctors, therapists and family members.  It is difficult and hard to do. I won't lie. However, I am making progress.  I came home from the rehab hospital last Monday morning. I cried when I saw the garage.  Then I was faced with a walker to deal with.  That lasted one day.  Then I started using my canes.  Just a day later, I walked down the hall without a cane.  I am still using canes to go out, get in and out of the car, and in the house especially in the morning.  But it is all good.  I am improving every day.

For those that are unaware, after knee surgery they measure the bend if your knee for flexibility. Doctors like to see numbers above 90 and consider 120 the max.  Last Tuesday I measured 95. Then on Thursday it was 105!  Taking that measurement is painful and provides a great stretch on the knee. Once complete the knee is much more flexible so there is incentive to keep doing it.  I now have a morning exercise program and another for the afternoons.

It is good to be home.

Congrats on your continued recovery. Every time you exercise, just think of the walks you can take around that beautiful area of the camp!
