A Cardinal in the Christmas Tree

I finally settled down long enough to stitch.  I am working on the Christmas afghan.  With a super cold weather of late, the afghan is a good idea.  One new problem is that my middle finger on my left hand is numb, the whole inside length of it.  Result is surgery?  Or perhaps it was overused communicating over the last few weeks.  The doctors seem to think it will go away with time.  I hope so as stitching is strange when you can't feel the needle.
