No spring round here yet. So I started Just Nan's Hoppington Hill spring cube. Pretty purple fabric and bright green borders. The colors alone are fun.
I love stitching. I love making stitcher's treasures. I would like to share my love of needlework.

A Finish - complete finishing and can you believe it? More Snow
ARGH!!!! Make it stop!! Another 3 to 5 inches of snow due tonight and into tomorrow morning. I have had enough. I tell you because saying that to anyone else in my area is a waste of words because they are already saying it to me. Enough already!! Today I finished block #12. I do believe it is time to put away the afghan. If I don't see some spring colors soon, I will go crazy.
The church spans several blocks and the house is only the second story so there is much more to come. I did start a new spring colored piece that I will share soon. I spent some time in my room preparing the next project and doing the final touches on several things. Here you go!
Two Mill Hill Santas, a snowman and a Fandangle are all ready to go!

Afghan House and My Doll
It is cold. It is bitter cold. Brrrr. Snow happens whenever it warms into the 20s. Argh!! Anyway - I have been stitching. The afghan keeps me warm. I am busy working on the house. I hope to finish this block tomorrow. Then I believe that I will find something smaller to work on.
I was able to get my doll from my mother in law. Did I tell you about the confusion where I received her doll and she received my doll. So we swapped. My doll has grey hair (check), a purple ribbon (check), an embroidery hoop complete with needle and floss (check). What do you think? I think it is fabulous.

Happy Valentine's Day
Brrr - it is cold outside and it snows, and snows, and snows! Good day to stay home and stitch. I put the finishing touches on the church today and then moved on to the farm house.
Yesterday I had a surprise in the mail. This little doll showed up from Tuscon, AZ. (I bet she wishes she was still warm in Tuscon.) I thought it was adorable. I am so pleased that my sister in law thought of me. So precious. But gee -- is my hair really that white? A cardinal makes me think of my mother in law. A red wagon with little balls of yarn? Once again my mother in law comes to mind. You guessed it! Terrie shipped out two packages and they went to the wrong houses. I have Mom's and she has mine. We will do an exchange when the weather allows. Reportedly my doll has grey hair, a purple ribbon and an embroidery hoop. I can't wait to meet her! I have been chuckling about this all day.

Church: Christmas Village Afghan
I have been working on the church. It spans three different blocks which makes it even harder to deal with. I am so glad to have this almost done. Of course the next question is what direction do I go in next? Left or Right?
Perle Cotton for hardanger!! It arrived the other day. I want to play, play, play. The bitter bite of winter has arrived. Minus 30 below on Sunday? Brrr. It was minus three this morning when I got up. The fire place is a welcome addition to my day. Everyone stay safe and warm.

Block #3 is done - more snow!!!
I am writing this while being snowbound. I am getting a bit tired of the weather. It has been good for my stitching plans. I just finished Block #3. I had to move the qsnaps in between the top and the bottom sections. Now I am focused on the church which actually spans four different blocks. It makes for a very confusing stitch but I am getting through it. I took a few photos of the different parts.
A lot of the stitching is pushing into Block #13 but I think I might have to work on #12 first. Anyway here is the big picture.
Meanwhile please make it stop snowing. I am getting really sick of it. I can't even measure the amounts any more. Do you remember the photo of the table from last week. Well, the snow is deeper now. Two more storms are heading our way. ARGH!!!

Christmas Afghan Block #3 is done.
What to do next? Besides spend an hour trying to get the internet to work again? Recent power outages perhaps caused the problem - - I will never know. I am just glad it is working again. :) I ran to the grocery today - - more snow is expected over the next three days. ARGH - spring! I need spring! Perhaps I should find some thing spring like to stitch - - - thinking, thinking, thinking.....
Trying to Stay Warm - Afghan Time
I had to move the q-snaps so I took the opportunity to take some photos. I am working on Block #3. I need to move down to the letters so I had to move the Qsnaps. I love this project and I am really loving the process of cross stitch. I guess I have missed it while I was doing other things.
I need to figure out how many blocks I have worked on. I am thinking I will get #3 done and then move down to #8 to complete the letters in the word Peace. It is bitter cold here and we have a three day snow event coming. ARGH - groceries are in and I suppose I am ready. I found my Downton Abbey quilt the other night and I just might have to find time to work on that.

The Morning After the Storm
The bright sunlight and the blue skies met me the morning after the storm. It is pretty. It is also fun to watch the animals wake and move around after such a storm. So - now time inside to stitch - Right?
I just today finished the band to go around the little basket. The Rhodes butterflies have crystals on their antenna. The finishing instructions made me cringe. They said to glue the band on to the basket. Horrors!! I thought about velcro but in the end I put a few little stitches in to join the band. They can be removed if I ever want to take it apart and wash it. My first finish for February!!

UNCLE!!!!! Make it stop
My deck table now has 17 inches of snow on it. I measured. ARGH!! It has been snowing since very early this morning. I have had enough. Meanwhile it is a good time to stitch - - between hiking to the mail box only to find it empty.
I should be working on the Christmas afghan. But - instead - I finished the needle book and started a band for a basket.
This is now ready for finishing. Pretty. The basket project is one I purchased years and years ago. Lorri Birmingham's A Tisket Tasket. This is the small basket size. There is a lot of buttonhole stitch around that band. Whew!!!!
