Ten Years in the Making??

This is a design by Drawn Thread.  I have been working on it for many years.  It has a history.  I decided at the start that the fabric was too long so I cut it in half.  Then I stitched the top half and as I rolled the scroll bars, I realized that I was about to run out of fabric, exactly half way through the design.  Horrors.  So it was put away for many years.  Then in 2009 I stitched the bottom half.  I have spent a lot of time trying to decide how to put the two pieces together and then how to do the hemstitching around the center design, and inside the outer border.  Well, I did it.  Today I did the hemstitching.  I also ironed a heavy interfacing on the back.  It is done.

Meanwhile we saw the doctor today.  The most recent scan doesn't show any change.  Darn.  It is great  that Jack can now eat as much as he can but the scan didn't show any shrinkage in the tumor.  So for now - more chemo and another scan in two months.  It isn't bad news but it isn't great news either.  Continued prayers are most welcome.

Will send good thoughts and healing energy your and hubbys way. This is a very huge cross stitch project! No wonder it has taken you several years.

That was a funny story - it must feel great to have it all put together and done. Congratulations on the finish!

I like when stitching has its own history - during the time it gets more energy and more sense.

Prayers for your husband!

You did well on rejoining the two pieces (one could almost think that it has to be like this :-)!
Still sending good thoughts to you and your husband.
Kind greetings,
Ann
