I love stitching. I love making stitcher's treasures. I would like to share my love of needlework.

A Finish and Camp News
Finally today I finished the current block on the afghan. It was solid wall to wall and took forever. I am happy to have it behind me. Meanwhile I called to check on camp and they may be ready to turn over the camp to me in just over two weeks. I need to get over there and check it out.

It Is A Puzzle.....
Today I received my new lap stand. This one allows you to rest your project on it's extension arms. No clamp required. But I have to learn how to sit with it and how to make it work. I haven't given up yet. It might be different with regular scroll rods. I will have to check that out. I am currently using QSnaps with the afghan. It is a bit easier? Maybe? Stay tuned for more info.

Happy Easter 2016
I have been stitching! I keep thinking of other projects but I keep working on the Christmas tree. I can announce that I have touched the fourth edge of the chart for this section. That is HUGE! There is light at the end of the tunnel. Progress is good.
Happy Easter everyone. Hopefully I will finish this section soon.

Tired of Christmas?
I have been stitching and stitching and stitching. However it is on a Christmas tree with green, green, green and some white, it is very boring. I keep thinking of doing something else but I return to plug away on this guy, it is one d the few solid blocks on the afghan.

Sunshine and the Craft Room
Today is cold but the sunshine was wonderful. I set off early this morning to spend time in my room. Six hours later and I have six things completed. Such a variety! They were fun. Spring was a theme since spring arrives tonight. It felt good to spend time in my room.

A Distraction
Today I had an appointment that required that I sit and wait. So, I found a bit of cross stitch to help pass the time. This piece is from Victoria Sampler Learning series. I started it in the hospital. Do you believe that was eight weeks ago? Where did the time go? Therapy is a struggle. I do improve each week but some days are more painful than others.
I also have to say that this week was a struggle. Yesterday marked the three year anniversary of losing my Jack. The tears started a month early and continue. Anniversaries loom and then pass. I would love to say that the day, itself doesn't matter. But it does.

Sparkle on a Sunny Day
Spring is creeping in. Warm temperatures, rain on and off, frisky deer and turkeys are telling me that spring is here. I have been able to sit on the deck for limited periods of time. I seem to crave the sun. Physical therapy is keeping me busy. Three times a week is my oral schedule. The knee continues to improve but I must admit to being a bit impatient from time to time. Compared to seven weeks ago, this is a piece of cake.
In between trying to walk, doing exercises, trying to keep up with the house, I have found some time to stitch. Today I was working on the sparkle garland on this Christmas tree that goes on forever. I want to leave this project and play with new toys and different projects but so far I am sticking to the afghan.

Stitching My Day Away
As I recover from this cold, I am returning to my stitching. The afghan is coming along. Spring is just around the corner so the afghan will go away after this current block is done. I do enjoy working on it.
I also received some new toys in the mail. I am eager to try them out. Stretcher bars with adjustable sides. Very exciting.
Oh, and the painters tape is new. Apparently it works well for attaching fabric to stretcher bars. It doesn't leave a residue on the fabric and that is great.

Darn This Cold
I am getting better but ever so slowly. I am blessed to say that I haven't had a bad cold in like four years. So I am perhaps suffering more than I need to. I am trying to avoid the doctor. After all if he says antibiotics, what then? I am still peeling skin from the last round of pills. So, lots of liquids, naps all day long, and trying to eat even without an appetite.
I must be feeling some better because I did some stitching. Well, to be honest I did quite a bit of reverse stitching and then tried to get going again. Grrrrr.
My knee is doing well. The doctor says I have great range of motion and to keep going. So physical therapy continues. I even did some step up and down exercises the other day. Yippee!

Floody is new
Hi all, I have been very quiet and I know it. My friend was here for ten days. We went out everyday. (Looking for trouble?). Shopping, PT, lunch, etc. It was fun and a bit exhausting. One of our shopping trips had me finding this little, well not so little, treasure.
Now, my friend has left and I am busy nursing a very bad cold. Hopefully I will be back to feeling better soon, back on schedule, finding my routines and back to normal. My knee is doing great. One good suggestion is to not judge by the day but look at it as improvements over the last week. Definitely makes it easier to seal with.
