Progress is being made

Here is the bottom part of the hutch. Those are huge drawers that I will store kits and charts in. They will get drawer fronts and hand pulls. See those little drawer spots across the top? Overdyed floss will be stored in those places. I plan to use my Mary Engelbreit knobs on the hutch.
Oh and a bit of stitching. This is September. I suppose it is a school house.

Another busy day - -

Okay - I have been stressing over what area rug to put on the living room floor. I am not crazy for Oriental rugs, geometric rugs, or just plain rugs. I have looked at dozens and dozens of rugs. There is a lot of 'Adirondack' rugs with bears, trout, canoes, etc. I decided that this pine cone rug has just enough color to make me happy and will blend well. I hope we like it. I have a matching runner for the hall way and a smaller rug for the front door.

The craft room is under construction. This is what is in the room now. The huge (and I mean huge) drawers for the lower section are put together and waiting in the garage. There is also now a counter top and my son (yes, my son - - I am so proud) is working of a row of drawers that will set half way back on the counter top. These small drawers will hold my snack bags and my overdyed floss. That stuff is currently in shoe boxes for this should be a huge improvement.
I did get a bit of stitching done a few days ago. I will have to admit that my posting of stitching has mostly been a few days (or months) behind where I truly am with my stitching. This is September. I am currently working on December which would end this particular project. Stay tuned for more updates.......

BTW - it was mostly a crazy day. Insurance companies, Dept of Motor Vehicles (2x), new licensee and new registrations. I suppose we are now New York State residents. I am tired out and didn't get to do the furniture shopping I wanted to do. Ah well, maybe tomorrow.

August - anyone like to fish?

Another month is done. Even with my very busy schedule of late, I seem to be able to get a month done every day or so. This is going so quickly because I don't have to do the border, I just stitch the middle part of each month's chart.

More Remodel and a bit of stitching....

Okay - the flooring arrived. My room will be a bit darker than the hard wood flooring in the rest of the house. I just had to be different..... *smile*

Bonus - - I forgot to get a photo of just June (the sun bonnet pair). This causes me to give you both June and July at the same time. The project is coming along.

The new house and a bit of stitching

While we were waiting for our moving van to arrive (just over a week ago now) I took a few photos while the house was empty. That living room needs a big area rug. I also want to replace some end tables and the coffee table. Perhaps a large comfy chair in that corner with an ottoman and a good lamp. Could that be a reading corner?????
May - it's a May basket? There are flowers and I hope we see spring flowers some time soon. But not too soon - - my son is going to be working on my craft room and has lots of free time until the snow melts. So - I hope that snow outside melts slowly.

Part 2 - March 26 - Craft Room update

Here is a photo of the entrance. It shows the color we painted the room well. It is called Lilac Whisper. I wanted a light purple and this is it.
This is the old color of the room. I think it was a great improvement. I am achy and sore. My knee is screaming from going up and down on the ladder. I had great help today from Bud and Linda. I am so happy to see my room coming together. What do you think of the color?

April Flowers and more about the tractor

Here are the April flowers. Purple, of course. I touched a wall!! It is coming along.
Here are the guys out with the tractor. My son and husband are checking it out. I am keeping track of the snow by how much of that bench in front of the tree I can see. When we got here you could just see a bit of the back sticking out of the snow. So we have lost about 8 inches of snow so far. We still have about 8 inches on the ground. As you can see we had a bright and sunny day. Sorry to hear that St. Louis is busy with a snow storm. Hi Everyone. I miss you.

Proud new owner and March Quilt Square

Well, here is the monster. Snow won't stand a chance against this guy!!!!
March brings flowers? Really? Not here in upstate NY. The snow is still covering the ground but I can dream of flowers coming soon.

The new toy is here and I did stitch a bit -

Here is my great and wonderful husband. He is on his new John Deer tractor with snow blower attachment. He is quite pleased with himself.
February - in the quilt of A Year of Favor by Handblessings. Interesting - I just noticed that this photo is upside down. How did I do that?

January - A Year of Favor

I did the border work before 'the big move'. The idea was that while on the road and while being so preoccupied with everything, I would be able to do these little square pieces and hopefully not have too many mistakes. So here is January. Being purple makes it just right. LOL.

A few more photos -

This is a bit dark, but you can get the idea. This will be my craft room some day soon. I don't like the carpet so flooring has been ordered. Shiny wood floor that is a bit more dark than the rest of the house will be installed. A Whispering Lilac will be painted on the walls. Then my son and I will design the cabinets, shelves, working surfaces.
Here is the kitchen today. The tulips haven't died yet. LOL. I need to spend tons of time in that room just rearranging.
Here is the new kitchen table that was delivered today. I love it. It has a butterfly leaf in the center. It was a shopping day. I will honestly post a few stitching finishes soon. I have been stitching. I have done seven of the squares for the quilt project I started. I have just been a bit busy with babies, unpacking, shopping, learning the roads and grinning from ear to ear most of the time.

I am Back - I am Home - Yippee Skippy

This is Rachel, my real estate agent showing her thoughts on the new house. Notice the natural light in the living room. This should be a great place to stitch. My recliner is actually now in that corner.
Here is the kitchen. I will be posting a few photos of the house as I go along. It has been a long journey to get here but it is all worth it. We moved in on Saturday. Unpacking went crazy yesterday (Sunday). Today we are working on utilities, getting the mail, dealing with a snow storm all morning and trying to rest up a bit.

So Sweet is Done!!

Well, the cross stitch part is. Here is the stitched piece, the chart and in the lower left there is the wool that will help to complete this into a tin.

Here is a close up of the last little piece. This is the top (or maybe the bottom) of the biscornu.

Moving Day on Post Number 700

There is our truck. Believe me it is full, full, full!!!

The dining room at one point today. I am tired and ready to relax. Drive tomorrow.

It was packing day

Boxes, boxes and more boxes. No pictures left on the walls. This picture was taken early in the day. What a day it was!
Empty cupboards and shelves show as every thing is boxed up. Tomorrow the truck comes to take it all away.

So Sweet Biscornu - part one

The floss came in and I could move on with this project. This is the first part of the biscornu. Hey - I got the year correct!! I have also made the corrections to the top. The Big Move continues. The people that will be doing the packing are due here tomorrow. It will be a very long day. I hope to be able to post every day through this process but it might not happen. I will post every day that I can.

It is a sad day and a bit of stitching -

This is a Dammit Doll. This was a gift from my friend Grace. Pinned to his chest is the following verse:
When you think you want to climb the wall or stand up and shout,
here's a little dammit doll.... you cannot do without.
Just grasp it firmly by the legs and find a place to slam it....
Then as you whack the stuff out - - yell DAMMIT!!! DAMMIT!!! DAMMIT!!!

Apparently someone is worried about my stress level. LOL
Here is the border ready to go. I am thinking that with the border done, the individual charts for each month will be easier to do while stitching with many distractions. We shall see.

It was a crazy day of saying good bye to many friends. Tears and hugs were going on over and over again. It is difficult and sad to say Good Bye to so many good friends. We have been in St. Louis for 26 years this time. Over that time I have made many good, good friends. I am so blessed for each and every one of you. I know that many of my St. Louis friends read this blog. Thank you all. I cry just thinking of this special day. I took my camera and never took a single photo. Hopefully someone will share some photos with me.

Start of something new - -

I ran out of green floss for the So Sweet project. So I will fill some time working on this Handblessings chart. It is "A Year of Favor from the Lord Quilt". I am doing the whole year's worth of border first. It is all done with a Waterlilies floss and it is an overdyed. I think that once I get the border done, it might be easier to do each month's chart while on the road or just distracted.

So Sweet - Scissors Fob

I love doing the finishing on these little fobs where you stitch the diamond and then close it up. It will be easy to finish this one. I nice pink tassel and a bit of cord will help finish this one up.

So Sweet Floss Tag

This will be made into a tag for a ring to hold floss. I am thinking of doing the tag part and then adding the small little rings to hold individual floss colors.

So Sweet Needlebook

This will be made into a needle book for my So Sweet project. It is pretty.

Scissors Pocket Complete

Here it is. This will go in the bottom of the candy tin. It will form a pocket to hold scissors. The felt/wool has arrived for completing this project and it is so pretty. I do believe the actual finishing of this may have to wait until after the move. I do want to get the stitching done before we move. I better go stitch.

Scissors Pocket Start &

Yes, the year is wrong on the tin top part. Why I thought to change it to 2010 when the chart called for 2009, while I clearly know it is 2011? I just can't say. So Judy guessed that one. The Linda posted that there may be a leaf missing? Grrrrr---- I need help. It is so sad. Yes, I do believe that there is a leaf missing. I will double check it tonight.

Tin Top is done

Well, here it is. Can you spot the mistake? It screams at me. I really do need to have a calmer life so stitching is such a struggle.
