Counting a long string - -

I had to count out 93 stitches across this next project. I really dislike counting and re-counting long stretches of stitches. It truely was the best way to start this particular project. I used a red thread and ran it through every tenth stitch. I kept the counting thread on the surface of the project. When I was on the other end, I double checked between the marked stitches and wha-la I was there! Then I just pulled out the red counting thread and I was ready to move on to the next part.

That's a neat idea. I have no current project to try that with, but will attempt to remember to do that on the next long border. Thanks for the tip!
