Part one is done - little flowers

I was able to finish up the 'box top' for the sewing set today.  This is all stitched over one.  Was happy to finish with the flag.

Dear Husband wanted to get the lawn mowed today.  He discovered these little flowers out in the lawn and brought some in before he mowed them down.  It was a beautiful day with lots of sunshine and cool temperatures.

Not a single one

Not a single stitch has been stitched today.  Perhaps this evening I will get a chance.  It was a day of running errands but not in my car.  I had a flat tire.  ARGH!!  Last night in the rush to get home before the big storm, I picked up a nail.  I have a photo.  Thank Goodness for AAA.  They took care of it in 30 minutes.  Wow - I am impressed.

Peonies, stitching and hail storms

Hubby took this photo this morning.  The peonies look great.  Two colors, but the white one isn't showing up very well.

I did a bit of stitching.  We went to the hospital to have a scan done today.  We don't have any reports or results.  I am on pins and needles hoping for only good news.

This this afternoon we had a thunderstorm with hail.  It was loud and scary.  All is well now.

Slowly I creep - -

This is the finished Easter Egg project.  I did the fancy edging.  Remember?  Anyway,  Now that it is done, I have a much bigger more delicate project that needs the same finishing.  Stay tuned.  LOL.

I did work on the flag again today.  I think there is one or maybe two more stripes at the bottom.  So I am closing in on it.

Home of the Brave

This is the start of the design named Home of the Brave Sewing Set.  This is for the box cover.  There is a scissors fob and a pin cushion (which may be turned into a needlebook.)  This is stitched over one on 28 count over dyed fabric.  Happy Memorial Day everyone.

Done, It's Done!!!

Well, until I take the time to put it together.  I have to say that the little webs and spiders on the tops and bottoms were boring and took a lot of time.  Next up?  Something patriotic is in order.  Red, white and blue.  Happy Holiday weekend to everyone.  Remember to say thank you in a quiet prayer for those that have given their all for our freedom and safety.  Wave a flag and watch a parade.  Summer is about to start.

I was so hoping - -

I was so hoping that I would be done with this today.  It was a good day and we went out for several reasons - - I just didn't find the time to get it done.  I still have little dots on each section and more spider webs to do.  Soon.  Soon.  Soon.

Last panel is now done!!

The last of the four panels are now done.  Next up will be the outlining and tops and bottoms.  I hope to get them done in the next few days.  I am already thinking about how to do the finishing.  What to use as a 'backing'?  Like a Skirtec?  What?

Another panel done

I did the work on the third panel today.  There is one more to go.  Some how I measured wrong and the fourth panel should go to the right of the last one but I believe it will go to the right of the other one.  I don't suppose it matters as once it is done, no one will know.

Chemo #4 Day and a few finishes

Today was the fourth round of chemo for my husband.  He is tolerating it okay so far.  The doctor is quite pleased and will be ordering a scan to be done next week so we can get a true picture of what is going on.  Thank everyone for your continued prayers.  Hubby even gained a pound this week.  Another good sign.  As with other chemo days, I did hemstitching work.  I did the little Christmas Santa cracker and then the inner border for the pillow project.  I also worked on the Bird of Happiness but I will take a photo of that one when I get more done.  It is almost done.

Before we left for the hospital this morning, I was able to get the border for block number three done.  Tonight I feel exhausted and too tired to think.  Chemo day does that to me.

Side 2 done -

Perhaps the pumpkin's name is Linda - - she hates spiders as well.  I have two more sides to do on this plus some other smaller parts to make it easier to put together.  This will be a finishing challenge - I do believe.  It was warm here today.  We have the AC ready but warm and hot here in the Adirondacks is nothing compared to St. Louis hot and humid stuff.  Summer is here and we are glad.  Tomorrow is the fourth round of chemo.  I need to start packing for the day.

Boat Ride and the second side started

Today was one of the best days there are in the Adirondacks.  Bright sunshine, cool breeze, calm waters.  It was wonderful.  We went for a pontoon boat ride with family this evening and it was wonderful.  I also did a bit of stitching before we went.  So the second side has been started.

That is my handsome husband and his Mother.  It was such a beautiful day.
My son and Great Grandson were at the helm.
A pumpkin and a spider.  More leaves, beads and such and this one will also be done.

First side is done -

This quadrille has four separate pictures to be completed.  I was busy working on this and decided to go a head and stitch on the beads and complete the first side.  So far - I love it.

Ok - I caved in.  Linda found these hoops while we were in Nashua.  I am very curious about them and I want to try them out.  They just arrived the other day.  My current project is too big for either of these.

Sun Blossoms Done

Today I did the back stitching and beading on the Just Nan Sun Blossoms Tree.  I love the bright colors and today's sun shine helped to improve the day.  This is a fussy project but the colors are so worth it.

Next up is Sweetheart's Tree Halloween Quadrille.  The finishing for this one is fascinating to me.  I know that sounds crazy.  LOL.  But I do enjoy the finishing part.

I was asked about floss organization.  I use the Stitch Box system for my DMC.  I have snack bags for overdyed floss.  I use a floss tote to organize any project.  It all works.  This project I have floss in the kit.  So I sorted it, put it in the tote and then marked the symbols for each color.  My stitch bows also fit in the tote.  It works out rather well.

Sun Blossoms Almost Done

The cross stitching is done.  Next - back stitching, beads and a charm.  Then this one is done, done, done.  I spent a bit of time this afternoon ironing the fabric and sorting the floss for the next project.  Stay tuned.

Sun Blossoms #2

It was a doctor day.  My husband is doing well with all that is going on.  The doctor is pleased with progress so far.  Jack is eating small amounts of easy foods now.  They remind him to go slow with adding back foods.  We are pleased with whatever progress we can have.  I did get some stitching done while it rained all day today.  This is fussy stitching - lots of colors, changing floss a lot, pretty but a lot of work.

Sun Blossoms Tree

I started something new.  This one is a new chart out by Just Nan.  It is called Sun Blossoms Tree.  I think it is just so colorful.  But as usual, a Just Nan requires lots of confetti stitching.

Happy Mother's Day

It was a banner day.  I have two finishes to share.  That doesn't happen very often.  First I have completed the Gentle Stitches project.  I will have to figure out how to finish it.  The instructions say to wrap it on a paper towel tube.  I have a plastic tube with ends that just might be my choice.  How to finish the edges???  How to stitch it on?

Then I decided to do the Santa cracker in order to complete the chart.  I will get it ready for hemstitching at the hospital.

Next, up - - a photo of my boys.....

We went out for ice cream.  He is a very busy little boy.  18 months old now and quite a hand full.

Gentle Stitches On a Beautiful Day

It is a beautiful day in the Adirondacks.  The sun is shining and the trees are a million shades of green.  It is so wonderful to see spring busting out all over.  It was a nice day for a drive.  I did get to do a bit of stitching.  I can see the end of this one and I am eager to move on to the next.

Gentle Stitches Continues

ARGH the frog came for a visit today.  That green border around the "gentle Stitches" was stitched at least twice.  This band still needs more work and then there is one more band to complete this one.

Gentle Stitches #2 and some finishing work

I have made some progress.  The numbers are done and I almost done with the little scissors.  I am not enjoying those little scissors.  Grr.  I am ready to move on.

This morning I did some work on the 'framing' of this piece.  I did a four sided stitch around the picture on Monday.  Today I counted out from there and pulled threads, rewove threads and then prepped it for hemstitching.  I think it will work out fine.  I also want to say that I used my new wooden 'Presser' to assist with this project.  I worked out really well.  It is a firm edge to press fabric where you would have 'finger pressed' in the past.  It really does a good job.

DH is doing well.  I am surprised.  This is the third chemo treatment.  In the past, Thursday was a very bad day but this time is not as bad.  I am not sure what is working, but we will take it.

Stitcher's Heart Done & Gentle Stitches Begin

I finished the Stitcher's Heart by Little House Needleworks.  It will be finished into a heart shaped pillow with hand dyed ric rac around the edge of it. When might that happen?  Well, we all know that might take some time but the stitching is done!!

So, next up is Gentle Stitches by Shakespeare's Peddler.  These two charts, along with another freebie type chart came together in a Nashville Market package.  This one is to be used to cover a paper towel tube?  I was reading the finishing instructions.  This will be bigger than I thought it might be.

My husband is doing well.  He is not great but he is okay.  This is good news for just after chemo.  Generally the next two days are a challenge but perhaps that won't happen this time.  I have my fingers crossed.

Stitcher's Heart Cointinues

The outline is done.  I have the second leaves and vines to do.  Then a few flowers, a few birds, two more words.......  I can see the end of this one!!!!  Happy dancing about the stitching AND the fact the DH ate a small bowl of dry Cherrios today.  It is a start.  I will take it!!!!!

Chemo #3

It was chemo day so I have up to six hours to be at the hospital.   I try to take some hand stitching to work on at the hospital.  Today I did the hemstitching on the gingerbread man cracker.  I put a four sided stitch around the Spring chickin in preparation for hem stitching on that one later.  Then I moved on the JBW's Bird of Happiness.  The project is probably about half way done.
Doesn't it look great?  I stitched this a few year ago.  Today Linda posted this photo as my son has made a frame for it.   Yippee - - I love seeing it.

I came home to new stash.  Drema sent the Just Nan trees that I requested.  It was a surprise to see them so soon.  Yippee - more stitching to do.

For now, I am tired right out and won't be doing much of anything.

LHN Stitcher's Heart #2

My Stitcher's Heart now has a house.  I started working on the outline of the heart to help with figuring out where to put other parts.  It is a bright and sunny day here on our mountain.  The trees are getting lots of leaves.  Tomorrow is Chemo #3 day.  We will be up early and then we are off for the treatment.

A Little Bit of Easter and another start

I finished the Easter project last night.  So this morning I had to start up with something new.
This is A Stitcher's Heart by Little House Needleworks.  This was a Nashville Market Release.  I made a good start on it this afternoon.

A Little Bit of Easter

This one is coming right along.  There is a line of light green at the bottom, the carrots get tops and then a vine with flowers along the side and top.  I am hoping to have this one done soon.  Easter has passed but I hope to have it as a stand up for next year.

Meanwhile my husband and I are doing okay.  Monday brings another round of chemo.  These off weeks are calm and restorative.  We try to get shopping done, errands and housework.  So far, all is well.

Start - Finish - Start

Spring Chickin Stitchin will be finished on a pillow.  This project is by Trail Creek Farm and was purchased at ABC Stitch Therapy while on my trip.  The stitching went very quickly.  I am thinking of a hem stitch mitered corner finish......

Then I had to start something new.  This is A Little Bit of Easter by Lizzie Kate.  Easter basket is almost done.  This will be another very quick stitch.

Flowering Crown Done

It is done.  The beads are on.  I am wondering how to finish it.  For now I am pleased to have it done and I can move on to something new.  "The Queen's needle never sleeps.".  Well said.  I seem to have gotten my stitching mojo back  I was working on this at 5 am.  I was having trouble sleeping so I was up for an hour before I returned for two more hours of sleep.
What to start next?  Something quick?  Something huge?  Something new?

Nashua Complete

Let's see what we see.  Mirabella's new Santa, Lizzie Kate's Little Bit of Easter, JBW Bluebird pouch project, a Halloween smalls chart, M'Lady's Pendant project and the purple stuffed Sprin Chicken project.

I was also able to do some stitching.  My sister came by to pick up some goodies and do a bit of stitching.  This Just Nan project is almost done.  What will be next?

On another note, there is a blog hop going on with the website Stitching The Night Away.  The question is how to reclaim your stitching mojo once you have lost interest.  It is a struggle some times to get back to stitching,  I have sat and looked at a project and wondered why I can't get going.  My best suggestion and to just pick it up and make a few stitches.  Almost always, once I get started, I am back in it totally.  I love the act of stitching.  I find it a wonderful hobby.
