Happy Fall

I know it has been some time since I logged in here.  Just the other day I tried to do this and the app failed.  Let's see if I can do this now.

I just finished this yesterday?  I know it was my last finish.  I have been trying to get some Christmas ornaments done.

This is a Shepherds Bush Needleroll titled Frightful Halloween. I love the colors of fall.

I spent some glorious time In My Room.  I put theses together and did some work so more finishes might get completed soon.

This was a challenge.  I made this for a wedding gift.  Sadly I asked her boss what her colors were.  I was too pinks.  No, they were eggplant, ivory and gold.  Also the date was the eighth and not the sixth. I believe this was one of my best attempts to "finish" this type of tin.  No way was I going to tear it apart.  So I did figure out how to add just two stitches to make it right.  Whew!

Our fall colors are great.  I keep looking to a good photo. So far I haven't seen one but I am enjoying getting out and about to see the leaves.

I So Love Fall

Fall arrives tomorrow.  Here I. The northeast, we have had some warm days and a few glimpses at collet stuff.  I live the colors of falls, the smell of fall, the soups and socks of fall!  And here it comes.  I am thrilled.  I haven't spent much time at camp.  I have been concentrating on the house.  Today I washed Windows.  Argh!  Tough job but I so love clean windows.  I also had tow finishes.  Yippee Skippy!  That doesn't happen every day.

The first is a Just Nan chart titled Needle In The Garden.  I live band samplers for days gone by.  The little stories, the instructions.  I live it all.  I am glad to have this done.  I don't have any plans for it.

I also worked in finishing up a hardanger bookmark.  This will be a gift for a friend.  I am quite pleased with that as well.  I need to get back to work on the flag.  It won't be long before I am ready to return to afghans. I am also signed up for a Celebrations in Needlework retreat in October.  I am really looking forward to it.

Where does the time go? September?

Hi all.  Yes, I know it has been quite some time.  As of tonight, windows are closed and there is a fire in the fireplace.  Chilly temperatures are due tonight.  Brrrr.  I am already wearing long sleeves most of the time.  Especially at camp.

I have continued to work on the Flag.  Three more stripes to go!  I have a home for this framed and in an office.  Somehow knowing where it will end up makes it easier to work on.  This is a special project.

Then there is Just Nan sampler project.  I haven't done as much on that one.

I am trying to set up a registration to Celebrations in Needlework in Stowe, VT.  Is anyone else going that reads my blog?  Just curious.

The Dog Days of Summer

Whew!  It is wet outside.  Very humid, hot and now rain to make sure all is wet.  I hope the storms break the current spell and nice weather comes to call.

I have been busy with my stitching and improvements at camp. I had aluminum stairs put in so we can get down to the river.  I have made it down there for a good soak once so far.  That project has kept me busy.

I started an Ort Box done on canvas.  Hours of prep work and the first installment are done.  There will be specialty stitches done in each of the squares.  It certainly has captured my attention.

I also finished the Just Nan Peacock Needleroll.  I just need to put that together.  I have found some time to spend in my room.  I set up some fans so I can keep it cool in there.  The Peacock project was a bit of a challenge.

Next up I started an older Just Nan project called Needle In A Garden. I am up to the third band.

August? Where Did July Go?

So the bruises are fading from the garage cleaning project. I have focused inside during the worst of the heat and humidity..  Today I finally spent some time in my room.  I love putting together my little treasures. It took a few hours.  I also spent time outlining a canvas and then putting it on a frame.

I have started work on a Just Nan, Peacock needle roll. I live the colors.

Tomorrow I have workmen at camp so I will be over there and perhaps I will take some photos.

Happy Dancing in a Clean Garage

Or I will when it cools down!  It has been hot and humid.  I hit the final corner, cleaned the floors and made a trip to the dump.  Whew!  It is done.  In between all the cleaning and errands, I have been stitching.  Now I am working on a project called Java Block by Hands On Design.  This is the sides of the block and then I have a top and bottom to do.  It will made a square pin cushion when completed.

Dog Days of Summer

Well summer did arrive.  Hot, humid with a chance of rain.  I am spending time home with the air conditioner most of the time.  Not to worry because there is plenty of things to do around the house.  Early mornings are spent cleaning the garage.  It seems that over the winter things pile up and now need cleaning out.  After some time in the garage, I get back to stitching.  Last week I did get my Daddy's chair delivered to camp.  It will be my new stitching spot over there.

There is a book shelf on one side, a magazine rack on the other side.  Add a chart holder, formally known as a book stand. It is missing the writing table. The foot stool would hold a lot of stash!  Light pole needs some work and I need to fix the lamp shade.

The Summer boxer by Lizzie Kate was finished.

The Just Nan tweet will require some finishing.

Then I moved on to Just Nan's Blitzen Glistens!

Hello There

I put the beads on with my morning coffee. I finished it at camp. I do live that place.  As long as the humidity stays low.

Last night I was able to get a photo of sunset. It is so pretty.  The camera doesn't really show it.

I tried out Daddy's chair for stitching. Perfect.

Busy, Busy..... It Is Summer!

I did it!  I did it!  I stayed at camp alone earlier this week.  I didn't remove the sweat shirt until ten o'clock. It was a bit chilly. While there I took a photo of a sign my brother made for me.  Cute!

I finished yet another cross stitch project.

Then I started yet another.

I need to spend time in the craft room putting things together.  The weather is turning humid again so I am back home. Today was 'Find the house!' Day.  Going to camp so often has me running through the house and just not keeping up with things.  Today I cleared the dining room table. That is a good thing.  I still have paperwork and the spare room to deal with.  Then, maybe, play time.  But by then the weather might be better and who knows.

Summer? It is getting away from me!

It has been a month?  Really?  Camp is awesome. I have been spending a lot of time there. Great place to entertain and stitch. The latest photo of camp was taken from the beach.

I continue to work on the flag but I must admit that it was a bit boring.

Then I moved to Just Nan. It us an anniversary biscornu. I just need to put it together.

Just today I finished the scissor pocket that goes along with it.

I also did some stash shopping.

Whew!  That is a lot. I am not sure who, if anyone, is still watching my blog but I will try to stay up to date.

It Is Cold Outside?

Brrrrrr. It was too. Old today to sit on the porch.  Rain and wind drive me inside at camp. Fire in the pellet stove and all was well.  InhVe to laugh because I had visitors in Sunday.  After a great lunch on the porch, it turned cold no rainy.  We moved inside with the fire.  The biggest challenge was to stay awake.  The sound of the rain, the warm fire and we all wanted to nap!

I will share a photo of the hat!  Happy Fourth of July early.

I also started making bottle covers.  Since we are still using bottled water at camp, it gets confusing as to whose is whose.

Over the last week, I have been busy with cross stitch. I love the American flag project.

Catch Up Time

I was able to finish the Lizzie Kate Summer piece.  I tried to set up Spring, but I am lacking a color so it went on hold.

That was fun.  Next?  One Nation by Bygone Stitches.  What am I thinking?  It is a flag.  Very patriotic.

I also decided it was time to make the Fourth of July hat I found in the closet.  The hat was finished today.  I modeled it but the Blogger doesn't want to continue so stayed tuned for future updates.

A Perfect Day on the Porch

I headed to camp with low expectations.  It has been hot and humid with high pollen counts.  I thought I would arrive, do a few chores and then head home to the air conditioning.  Well.  I stayed most of the day!  There was such a nice breeze off the river!  Wind and sun and fun for me.  I stitched.  I had lunch and I did do a few chores.  It was such nice day.

Stitching and Summer Heat

It has been a crazy week.  Busy with many, many trips to camp.  I do love it over there.  The builder is busy trying to finalize the last few items.  Also my sister came for a visit.  She was able to make it to the beach so she could put her feet in the water and she took a photo from the beach.  I live it.

I have been attempting to stitch in between the many errands,  Lizzie Kate Summer. Most appropriate. It is hot me humid.  Summer has arrived.  Grrrrr.  I live to stitch on the porch at camp but today was too hot and humid.  It was nice and cool inside but the smell of polyurethane was overwhelming.  I didn't stay very long.

Lucky Enough is Done

It is complete.  I have been pushing to get this done so I can put together the next project before I return to camp. This was a fast project and I really like it.  What's next?

Camp Is Awesome!

I had a fantastic time.  Three days at and involved with camp!  I am worn out and tired.  It was so good to have my brother here with time to play at camp.  I like the new bed.  Things are settling down. I am home for a few days but I hope to go back soon.

This is a panoramic I took this morning before I left.  I saw two families of Canadian Geese.  Yesterday we saw a bald eagle flying low over the river.  Not to mention the ducks, beavers, muskrat and more.  I hardly touched a needle while at camp but I do have a new stitching nest inside over there so there is hope.  I have the current project has cross done.  Next is back stitching and lettering.

Wow Oh Wow

I made great progress today!  This be stopping. MY BROTHER IS COMING!  So cooking, planning, packing and such have to take priority. I am going to camp for a few days. I will miss all of you but look for an update in three or four days.

Need I Say More

It was a quiet day.  Too cold for camp so I stayed home.

Housework and stitching.

Great progress today.

Even A Rainy Day

Is a good day at camp!  It was great to hear the rain on the roof and as it hit the river.  I had a fire inside to help cut down the humidity.  I sat and stitched some.  It was a good day.

Another start!

I had an awesome day on the river!  I spent most of the day there by myself.  I was stitching in and off.
I was reading a book at different points.  Made iced tea for a meeting tomorrow.  That was my day.  It was so warm today that I took off my jacket!  I was glad to have a long sleeve shirt on. It was warm with a nice breeze off the river.  The neighbors across the river were busy cleaning up and getting ready for summer.  Some Canadian Geese caused quite a ruckus.  Lots of noise and bathing in the river.  That is about it for my day.

New finish and a start

I had a great day at camp!  Warm temperatures and a good friend.  It was a good day.  I believe we saw a beaver crossing the river today.  Several neighbors were also out and cleaning up for the summer season.  Meanwhile I finished a Victoria Sampler Learning Series on hem stitching and four sided stitch.

This will make a good Christmas ornament.  Then I had to find something new.  So I started Victoria Sampler Alphabet series, Letter F.  I was working on this a camp today while sitting on the porch.

Done! Lizzie Kate 3 Little Words

I just put the last button on this piece!  Yippee Skippy!  I am so happy I could cry.  Done, done, done.

I went to camp this morning,  for the first time, it was warmer inside than out.  There was a brisk wind off the river and that made it too cold to sit on the porch.  So I went inside to clean up a bit, put things away and to read for a bit.  Yes, I do take stitching with me.  I love to stitch in the porch in direct sunshine.  I plan on doing a lot of stitching there. Temperatures are warming and there is hope.

What do I work in next?
