Let's think spring!!

This is the beginning of a Mill Hill Button and Bead kit. I love the colors. This will be Main Street's Ice Cream Shoppe. I have been trying to figure out how to handle the beads for this one. I will use a ton of beads on this. They arrive in three little plastic bags. How to separate them? How to organize them for use during the project? All these questions are being considered at this point. The last time I did one of these (Santa) I spent hours separating each and every bead by color and then putting them in separate little containers. I am not sure it was worth the effort.

Winter Hearts Complete

You can see a bit of the sparkle in the fabric. I like this little treasure.

Just Nan's Humbug

This is Just Nan's Winter Hearts Humbug. I made a good start. In small print, just above the lower border it reads 'Let It Snow Let It Snow' etc. It is all stitched, at this point with an overdyed floss. That makes it really easy.

Pear Tree Complete

I just love the colors. I am pleased with this one. Once again, I think it is too big for an ornament. I thought about changing the size as I love to stitch over one BUT the beads would be too big. Awwww well.

He's A Flake

This is a design by Little House Needleworks. It is part of a series of ornaments. He seems a bit big for me. Perhaps a knob hanger or a stand up easel will work better. Anyway here he is!

Happy Valentine's Day

I finished the Christmas humbug is done. It fits inside the little Christmas tin. I am not sure why I love working on these little things.

Part Two

Well, I finished the topper (finished photo will come soon.) Then I moved on to make the part for the humbug ornament that will fit inside the tin. Here is the humbug part all stitched and ready for finishing.

Time for something new - -

Just Nan - Tin Topper. This is the Christmas themed one. The fabric is sparkly. There is quite a bit of stitching to this project.

Summer Breeze is done

The border on the outside looks good, I think. Yes that is an alphabet in the lawn. It is hard to see but I believe that was the point. I am glad to have this one done. I will on to some smaller projects.

Let It Snow

Great timing!! We have snow!!! This is a design by Little House Needleworks. I didn't have enough blue for the birds so I used red. I like cardinals. The fabric is an overdyed grey/white but it doesn't show up very good.

Surprise Package

I jumped on the wagon at Stitches 'N Things for the $15.00 grab bag. This is what I got!! I am in love with the overdyed fabric (an evenweave) and the heart frame. The charts are okay. I see La Scarot there and I have already stitched him. I will have to gift him out. Like I said the frame and the fabric are great for $15.00

It's a whole lot of green

Okay - - so I am working on the lawn. The alphabet is there but subtle. Solid stitching is always a challenge. The end is in sight.

Summer Breeze continues

The willow tree was stitched, the house is done and the fences are in place. The flowers and the butterfly were completed. Now I have the lawn to work on with all the letters. After all this is going to be a sampler.

Snow Buddies Finished

I put some soft green fabric on the back (sorry I didn't get a photo) . I am thrilled that this came out so well. Let me explain. I stitched this on a piece of fabric that has so many creases and they would not iron out. I was concerned that the creases would show in the finished project. They don't! The secret is that I laced the fabric for the front of the ornament. I have taken to using regular cardboard for the front and shirt strength card board for the back. Then I stitch them together. This works well to use a 1/4" ribbon to cover the edges. I am quite happy with this little guy.

We have a house!

I started working on the bottom of the sampler. There is a house, a fence, a willow tree and then the alphabet hidden in the grass. I am beginning to see the end of this project.

Summer Breeze - a bit more done

I did the fill in on that block of stitching for the swan and then a bit was added at the bottom.

Merry Christmas

Well, I continue to do finishing. This the design by Ladybug Designs was in this year's JCS magazine. This is the design that I stitched and then made kits for 5 friends. I really like this little scotty dog.
