Well, we have his hat

and some of the tree he is carrying. This was a slow day and I didn't get much done. It happens.

The back stitching follows:

So we have all of the night banner done, a bit of ribbon on the right and now the snowman is looking mush better. The grey border below the snowman - - here comes Santa Claus. LOL.
Thank you to all that left comments. I do enjoy reading that others are enjoying the progress.

A bit of a time out.

I did the finishing on my Christmas ornament yesterday. I had done the stitching quite some time back. I then put together five other kits for this ornament to share with my friends. I think it is very pretty.

I worked on the ribbon off to the right of the snowman and began work on the oval frame for Santa Claus.

Who Knew?

We are expecting 4 - 6 inches of snow this evening. It should melt tomorrow but it is still a very strong snow storm heading out way. Mr. Snowman is ready to go.

Let It Snow says the snowman......

I stitched the night sky banner and started in on the framed snowman card. It sort of looks like a post card.

See the Snowflakes?

The snow flakes are french knots. I like the way they show up on the dark sky. The back stitching is done on the skier. Time to continue on with the banner of the night sky that goes behind the skier.

A bit of a distraction

I love, love, love my new car. I have yet to name it. I picked it up today. The color is called Blue Ribbon Blue. I ordered one model and when the dealer couldn't get it, I was upgraded to a much nicer car. I am thrilled. Stitching had to wait today as I did some driving around. LOL.

A strip of dark sky

There is a wide strip of dark sky that runs behind the skier. As you can see, I once again have to stop and do some back stitching. That will help add some definition to the areas. I keep telling myself that I need to work on something small as a break from this big one, but then I push on to another section of this project.

That is a lot of solid stitching

One of the joys of a large project like this is that each little section is it's own small project. This still lacks back stitching but the main cross is done.

Mont Blanc

A new area - a new space - this is a skier. Within the diamond, it is solid stitching.

Tulips Done and The start of the skier

I took some time to do the finishing on the tulips. There is a pretty tulip and flower pastel colored fabric on the back of each of these. I am happy to have these done in time for Easter.

I am trying so hard to keep up with the back stitching. I stitched the white banner/ribbon below the Wonderland and started work on the skier.

Mail Art Envelope????

The backstitching is done on this section. It has been suggested that the envelope the Valentine Gal is holding is actually a mail art. How wonderful is that? The lace up the side is backstitched and the Valentine wording was done. At this point, this project is almost (almost) half way done. There is four rows below the brown line to make it half way. Plus I have not done the back stitch background (wallpaper) stitch on the blank parts of this top half.

Valentine Lady

After the boot, I moved on to the Valentine Lady and a spot of lace running up the right hand side of the sampler.

It is a good thing I like stitching

A friend lost his mother on Christmas Eve last year. As he and his sisters were cleaning out the house, they found some cross stitch supplies. My friend said he would save it for me. So he brought me a XS bag, some very old floss, a few charts and aida cloth. I took a small part of one chart by Jean Ferrish and stitched eight (he has seven brothers and sisters) tulips to be made into ornaments. The stitching is done. Finishing to follow.
Back stitching done for the skate. I will now move down directly below the skate. I am trying to keep up with the outlines and back stitching.

Something new happening - -

I now have a skate full of flowers! It was great to be done with the big picture in the middle. I was asked to post the details of this project. It is a kit from Janlynn called Winter Sampler and it is designed by Susan Orton. I already of the other three seasons hanging on the wall. I am eager to see this one done and hanging with them.

The backstitching nightmare begins

I tried to finish up the winter white below the pond. I started doing the back stitching which includes "Wonderland", the pond, the skaters and kids. Then there is the house and the greenery above it all. There is days of back stitching to do here.

Shopping and stitching

I did a bit of shopping recently. These are two Blue Ribbon samplers to go with my Peppermint Twist. I would love to start them but I am a one project person - - - so here is some progress on the Winter Scrap Book Sampler.

We now have the other tree and a sled to look at. The amount of back stitching for this section is staggering me.

We have skaters

We have the start of the pond and some skaters. Also the two kids sledding on the hill. The house in the back ground is pretty cool. There will be a lot of backstitching on this part of the project.

We've Got a Year!

I moved back to the left and put the year on the banner. This assumes I will finish this project this year. I think it is a pretty good bet. Check out the snow shoes. The little color above the two kids pitching snowballs is another kid hiding and throwing balls back. This is so much fun.

Good Ole Uncle Sam

I stitched this piece at a camp many years ago. I was experimenting with stand up box displays at the time. I had the solid box stuff, the front and the back. I just never got around to the sides and putting it all together. Well, here it is all done.

The Start of the snow ball fight

The two color blobs by the tree are two kids throwing snow balls. I know it is hard to see right now but trust me it is coming.

Back to Winter

We now have most of the green stuff, a sky and a moon. Oh - do you see the smoke that will come out of the chimney - - some day?

Sizzle complete

Sizzle tin came with a pin wheel. There is a different design on each side of the pin wheel. There is a bit of batting between the two sides that allow you to push the pins in. Cute!

Another Update

So the stitching continues. The greenery on the top was a challenge. Then Winter was troublesome. I did find that keep track of the chart is better when I use my magnets and a short piece of 'static liners', which never seem to stay on the chart when I am moving it around all the time.
