Strawberry Farm Done!

I completed the last of the project. I put my name and the date on the bottom. It appears the red hat ladies came to tea. LOL. This is a close up of the last section of the project. I also have a full view of the completed project. I plan to get this framed.

I had planned to do a "Wordless Wednesday" but I just couldn't stop myself from showing this one off. Tomorrow I will do a pretty scenic view.

I just love this - -

My sister stitched this tablecloth. It has such pretty blue and yellow flowers. I am pleased and thrilled to have it. My nephew and his wife had their eye on it and I said that was fine. Then they told me it was mine. Jayne worked on this project over a long time and did not know that she had finished it. It covers my barrel table which is full of candles. It is a reminder of my sister. I don't really need any reminders - - my heart aches every day.

Strawberry Fields Title

So now we have the title of this piece. The flowers are beads. The little bees and butterflies were a bit of a pain to stitch.

Buttons, buttons, who has all the buttons?

I do! It appears the my sister, Jayne, (I miss her) had a habit of collecting buttons. Little ones, big ones, loud colors, and all other kind of combinations were found in her apartment.
I know she used a lot of little buttons on baby sweaters and I found many of those in the stash. I sorted all the buttons, put them in little plastic bags and stored them away. If you need a special button, let me know if I can help.....

Let's start the Jam House and the farmer's market

I like the 'working' part of this piece. The white fancy delicate tablecloth is also a fun part of this.

More strawberries.....

She is wearing a purple shirt. Could it be me???? The white flowers are stitched with beads.
Then I added the pretty green row of fancy stitches and beads.

Jayne's Treasures - -

This was a baby's sweater that my sister made. I really wish my new Great Grand baby was to be a girl. This would be perfect. Not to worry - - we have something special for the little boy we are expecting.
My sister stitched this. I sent her the fabric. She fell in love with the overdyed fabrics we use for counted cross. Then she did this little bit of embroidery. I love it and it now hangs in my craft room.

Thank you to all that have said a prayer, sent a card or left a message. I am finally getting caught up on sleep and I am feeling better. I am still surprised by little things that can make me stop short and cry. I found some banners I had made that I planned to send to my sister. Who will I share them with now? I miss her.

Strawberry Fields - 2

I have lost track as to how many photos of this I have posted. I didn't get to work on this much in NY. I prefer to use a lap stand and this is big and almost requires a lap stand. While I had all the parts with me and I did set it up, I found it easier to work on smaller projects with a small hoop. We have the road stand started and the main house. There are strawberry fields surrounding the house. I am almost hear the bees buzzing on a hot day in this place.

Notecards by Jayne

Merry Christmas.... Jayne used beads and a bit of embroidery floss to create this special note card.
This note card has a bit of crochet on it. Isn't it wonderful?

Sue Hillis Ornament

This one took some time. I started it before I went to NY. Then I worked on it at the hospital. Somehow I lost the chart. Thank Goodness I was able to get another from the magazine. I then went on to finish it up. It is stitched over one!!!!!

Peace

This was an ornament kit from our group. That means this came from the Ornament issue from Just Cross Stitch. I am not sure who designed it. Perhaps Brittercup? I stitched while I was in NY.

Just Nan - Stitched - -

I finished both while visiting my sister in ICU. I cry when I look at them. I will try to get this project finished in the tin topper and pin cushion I stitched them for. It will always be a special memory for me.

Just Nan - it is a beginning

I am a lousy rider in the car. In order to keep my mind off the road, I stitched in the car. I found the open glove box was a great little table to work from. This is a tin topper.

VS - Strawberry Fields

This is the start of a large project. Why I decided to take it 'on the road', I am not sure. This is Victoria Samplers small farm series. This is the top design with the tree and what will become the first of some strawberry fields.

LHN - Red House

I stitched this while in Branson visiting relatives. It was a fun stitch. I still don't get how this can be called an ornament. It is huge, in my book. Perhaps it will become a stand up.

Stash Update!!

I am thrilled to have the coral (pumpkin) fabric. I have been looking for it to do a pattern from a magazine last year. Now I have the fabric. There is also a Sweetheart Tree biscournu, a band sampler, a hardanger book and a Monsterbubbles Beatles chart - - All We are Saying - - I picked this up when I returned to Branson early last month.

Humbug is done!

So it is done, complete, finished. The backstitching wasn't much. I do like the flowers and it is great to see it all done up and ready to be put together.

Then it is time to put it together. I happen to have the purple twisted cord in my stash. I think it is adorable.

Let's Go Fly a Kite

This was a quick and easy kit. The fabric is actually bright lime green. The stitching was simple enough. The center shows the piece of edging that will be used as the tail of this scissors fob kite. - - I really do have to get busy with finishing. I have been sleeping A LOT! I figure it is part of my recovery and grief. I also have a few choice items made by my sister that I will share in the days to come. Thank you to everyone for your emails, comments and prayers.

The Lake Gives me Solace

I was able to spend a bit of time lately at the lake. I lost my best friend and sister just a few weeks ago. Jayne loved the lake. Jayne visited the lake at every opportunity. I will miss my sister so much it hurts. I fear this event will take some extra time to process and handle. This photo was taken at one of our favorite places. I know my sister would absolutely love it. Jayne, if you are listening, I miss you so much it hurts.

I hope to resume my blog posts to a more regular basis soon. Pardon me if it takes me a bit of time to get back into my routine.

Peace on Earth

Here is the sheep complete. This is yet another Little House Needleworks ornament series.
