A Perfect Day on the Porch

I headed to camp with low expectations.  It has been hot and humid with high pollen counts.  I thought I would arrive, do a few chores and then head home to the air conditioning.  Well.  I stayed most of the day!  There was such a nice breeze off the river!  Wind and sun and fun for me.  I stitched.  I had lunch and I did do a few chores.  It was such nice day.

Stitching and Summer Heat

It has been a crazy week.  Busy with many, many trips to camp.  I do love it over there.  The builder is busy trying to finalize the last few items.  Also my sister came for a visit.  She was able to make it to the beach so she could put her feet in the water and she took a photo from the beach.  I live it.

I have been attempting to stitch in between the many errands,  Lizzie Kate Summer. Most appropriate. It is hot me humid.  Summer has arrived.  Grrrrr.  I live to stitch on the porch at camp but today was too hot and humid.  It was nice and cool inside but the smell of polyurethane was overwhelming.  I didn't stay very long.

Lucky Enough is Done

It is complete.  I have been pushing to get this done so I can put together the next project before I return to camp. This was a fast project and I really like it.  What's next?

Camp Is Awesome!

I had a fantastic time.  Three days at and involved with camp!  I am worn out and tired.  It was so good to have my brother here with time to play at camp.  I like the new bed.  Things are settling down. I am home for a few days but I hope to go back soon.

This is a panoramic I took this morning before I left.  I saw two families of Canadian Geese.  Yesterday we saw a bald eagle flying low over the river.  Not to mention the ducks, beavers, muskrat and more.  I hardly touched a needle while at camp but I do have a new stitching nest inside over there so there is hope.  I have the current project has cross done.  Next is back stitching and lettering.

Wow Oh Wow

I made great progress today!  This be stopping. MY BROTHER IS COMING!  So cooking, planning, packing and such have to take priority. I am going to camp for a few days. I will miss all of you but look for an update in three or four days.

Need I Say More

It was a quiet day.  Too cold for camp so I stayed home.

Great progress today.

Even A Rainy Day

Is a good day at camp!  It was great to hear the rain on the roof and as it hit the river.  I had a fire inside to help cut down the humidity.  I sat and stitched some.  It was a good day.

Another start!

I had an awesome day on the river!  I spent most of the day there by myself.  I was stitching in and off.
I was reading a book at different points.  Made iced tea for a meeting tomorrow.  That was my day.  It was so warm today that I took off my jacket!  I was glad to have a long sleeve shirt on. It was warm with a nice breeze off the river.  The neighbors across the river were busy cleaning up and getting ready for summer.  Some Canadian Geese caused quite a ruckus.  Lots of noise and bathing in the river.  That is about it for my day.

New finish and a start

I had a great day at camp!  Warm temperatures and a good friend.  It was a good day.  I believe we saw a beaver crossing the river today.  Several neighbors were also out and cleaning up for the summer season.  Meanwhile I finished a Victoria Sampler Learning Series on hem stitching and four sided stitch.

This will make a good Christmas ornament.  Then I had to find something new.  So I started Victoria Sampler Alphabet series, Letter F.  I was working on this a camp today while sitting on the porch.

Done! Lizzie Kate 3 Little Words

I just put the last button on this piece!  Yippee Skippy!  I am so happy I could cry.  Done, done, done.

I went to camp this morning,  for the first time, it was warmer inside than out.  There was a brisk wind off the river and that made it too cold to sit on the porch.  So I went inside to clean up a bit, put things away and to read for a bit.  Yes, I do take stitching with me.  I love to stitch in the porch in direct sunshine.  I plan on doing a lot of stitching there. Temperatures are warming and there is hope.

What do I work in next?

Happy Mother's Day 2016

I hope everyone had a good day.  I was blessed with flowers and a delightful lunch with my son and daughter in law.  It was a good day.

I did do some stitching.  I am crazy to finish the current Lizzie Kate.  I did finish the last of the series.  Then I worked on the bonus chart.  I am one color away from having that done. THEN I have to finish up the border and put on the buttons.  My mind is dizzy with thoughts of what is next.

Double photo with flowers and the current project.  The craft room is now a treat to visit.  It is so clean that I don't want to mess it up.  Don't worry because that won't last long.  The weather is supposed to warm so I see more trips to camp soon.

Snow Shovel, put it away or not?

I was just out on the deck and saw the snow shovel.  Do I put away or not?  Just recently we had sleet, snow and freezing rain.  Nex week they are teasing us with 70 degree weather.  Decisions, decisions.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, I stitched.  I am almost done with the new, perhaps last chart for this series of cross stitch,  I finished one and almost finished another. There is a bonus chart that I could do or not.  I am undecided.

Progress?

I just took some photos.  I guess you had to see the mess before to see the progress.  I cleared out the bookcase, rearranged current projects, and rearranged the shelves.  I think it looks much better.

I still want to clean out and redo the glass case built into the desk.  There is too much stuff in there.

There are a lot more clear surfaces now and that is a good thing.

Spring Cleaning the Craft Room

ARGH!  This is work!  I have now spent two days in that room.  There is 900 pounds of books in the garage waiting to go to the basement and the new reference library I plan to build.  One step at a time. Last night those books were in the dining room.  So that is progress.  Then I have gone through three years of magazines.  Now the rule is that I keep five years on hand.  Old magazines are striped of any charts, reviews, instructions are cut out and put in binders.  I have a huge excel spreadsheet of many, many years of just such treasures.  I was shocked to find that I have magazines from early 2008.

With the new found room, I am rearranging and organizing.  I want the room to look less cluttered and more calm.  Wish me luck.  In between cleaning sessions I am stitching.

May Day Stitching

It was rainy and cold today.  I felt it was a good day to stay home and stitch.  Another good thing about spending some time at home is that I am getting stuff around the house caught up.  I also spent some time with my new lap stand, especially now that I am not working in the afghan.

The scroll bars sit lightly on the stand.  That makes it easy to flip them and deal with the back.  Also the magnifier is on the stand and not on the bars and that helps.  I am liking it more every day.  I spent some time on the Lizzie Kate 3 Little Words.  I finish the current one and will continue on to the next one.
