Stitch, Stitch, and then do some more......

Say Good Bye to the afghan. I just can't do any more.  I have already done more than a normal year.  I had hoped to do block fifteen and do the border half way down but sadly I had to give up for now.

I also have some new floss. DMC Coloris.  Charts and such to play with.

So I wanted to work on something smaller and try out the new lap stand.  So, dear Stitchers, I went from 18 count to 32 count.  I feel a bit cross eyed but progress is being made.

From my stitching chair, I managed to procure a wagon for camp.  Isn't it perfect, cute and absolutely what I wanted?  Thanks to my brother Butch for keeping an eye out for me.

And my brother is working on my Daddy's chair. I broke into tears when I saw the picture.  I so remember that chair.  Not only with my Dad, but also with my husband,  it was Jacks chair when he was in Bolton.  And soon it will be at camp.  It may need new springs, and it will get new cushions.  I can't wait. Don't you see a stitching stand utilizing the hole in the arm?

Stitching and Camp News

I touched a wall on the afghan!  The top five blocks are now done.  I have moved on to block number ten right below it and already half way done.

Very exciting.  I should return to so many other projects but I keep working on this.  I do love the large count and it is already beside my chair.  (Talk about lazy!). Meanwhile I have been getting things done at camp.  Windows, rugs, furniture.  Let me share.

Thank you to Buddy, my son and Linda , his girlfriend for all their help this week.  Progress is being made.  Today it was cold and raining.  Then snow.  Then sleet.  Brr.  It was still good to sit in my chair to watch the fire, turn to see the river being rained in and then turn and check out the room.

I Am Not A Shopper

It has been a week of shopping and more shopping.  I hope I am about done.  Beds, stools and chairs are in camp.  Sheets, curtains are here and ready to go in.  I certainly hope that I am done.  My bank account says I am done.  LOL. Here are a few photos of what has been happening.

Shopping For Camp

I have been getting my steps in this week.  I have been shopping, shopping, shopping.  I keep stealing stuff from my house to furnish camp, but that leaves a hole here that then needs to be filled.  I refuse to be in a hurry. However I have good news tonight. Tomorrow two beds, three stools, two side tables, two chairs will all be delivered.  From two different stores.  I have a bench in my car to deliver.  Whew!

This is one of the two matching chairs for the living room at camp. Rocker, swivel glider type chair.  Very comfortable for stitching.  I will admit that I splurged on this one.  Meanwhile while icing my knee, I have been working toward the far right corner of the afghan.

Tomorrow I will be forced to spend time on the camp porch and stitch while I wait for deliveries.  Who wants to join me?

Sunny Afternoon with stitching and geese

I worked on the afghan.  It is 18 count and the sunshine was perfect.  I loved the light with sunshine on my back.  It was 80 on the porch and 60 inside camp.  But I had a great time with my mother in law as a lunch partner.

We had a few visitors at lunch.  Two geese and we saw a guy in a kayak and an otter.
It is so mesmerizing to watch the river flow by.  Major stress reduction.  Great day.

Camp is ready for more

After three days of packing, moving and putting stuff away, I am exhausted. My knee is huge and now has ice on it. The kitchen is functional.  The basics are there.  We even had an overnight. It was 28 degrees on the porch early yesterday morning.  My brother was here and is the energizer bunny.  I am so grateful for his help and guidance through this whole project.  This took about two years of dreaming and doing to get to this point.  Amazing.  Fantastic.  I am in awe.  Let me share some photos.

The fire was very welcome.  The sampler was stitched by a dear friend.  It is a Bent Creek. It says something about a journey beginning with a single step.  Perfect for this long and involved project.

From inside the completely empty porch.  I love the door.  I had to ask if I picked it out.

There it is.  Yes, there is water on two sides right now with spring thaw and rains.

Great grandson discovered the storage closet for pellets.  He had a grand time discovering the camp.

Ready for the party.  The builder showed up with the Team, a new grill, all the fixings for a party.  Drinks, chips, brats, salads, pickles.  Amazing.  It was great.  I am so impressed with this team. They did a fantastic job.  More to come.

What a fantastic Day!

Screening is up. BBQ is ready. I couldn't be happier.

Welcome t the new screen door.  Amazing.  The builder was fantastic.  I have a new grill, we had a party and I can't believe this s happening.

My First Night At Camp

Pardon me while I dream. It is possible that I will spend my very first night at camp later this week.  A cot and an air bed might serve for that first night.  I am very busy packing.  Kitchen stuff.  Cleaning stuff.  Temperatures are promised to remain over freezing so the water can be turned on.  There will be a turn over ceremony on Wednesday.  I plan to start moving in immediately.

I am counting my blessings.  Most winters in my area would not allow construction to continue. This year things have been moving right along.  Only this year could we be so ready to move in.  Isn't it wonderful?  I would love an overnight.  I look forward to an early morning coffee on the porch while watching the mist rise from the river.  Wish me luck.

Almost done with yet another block

EARTH is almost done.  I am zooming right along. I am remembering what it is like to be addicted to my stitching again.  But what to do next?  More blocks could be done.  I have several on going projects to work on.  What to do?  What to do?  Meanwhile I am told that I can move into camp on Wednesday.  So the dining room is now camp central with all the things I want to take over there.  I am about to get very busy with camp.  What projects to work on over there?  So many questions....

Block #4 Done!

I know it is hard to see and even stranger to believe that I completed another block. I am moving on to the lower part of the letters.  I am certainly pleased to have another block done.

On to the Letters

Sunday's seem to be my stitch days!  I have been working on this most of he day.  The border does get boring.  On the other hand, it is not solid stitching so I can move right along.

Afghan Continues

I am now working on a block at the top of the afghan and part of the border.

I also went to camp today and I went right up those stairs and walked around the loft.  First time!

Two Weeks and Counting

It is going to happen!  I went to camp yesterday and it is coming right along. I need to start packing as I should be moving in two weeks from now.  Plans are being made.  Yippee Skippy and all the good stuff.

Just few phtotos to remind you.  Just in case you forgot that I have been building a camp.  The river is very high but then it is spring.
