Nashua #3

More Stash!!! These are the two kits from the classes I took.  The pink fabric on the left is the specialty stitches piece that will wrap around the wooden spool/scissors holder/needle minder.  In the scroll frame is the start of Isle of Hope bell pull.  Both classes were wonderful and I had a great time going.

I am stitching.  This is Just Nan's Flowering Crown.  I did some of the stitching while in Nashua and some since I have been home.  The crown itself is done except for beads and charms.
Oh, the Witch's Hat.  That is a kit to make a crazy quilt witch's hat that is huge and used a pillow/decoration.  I can't wait to work on that one.  The Weeks Dye Works is the floss for that project.  The other kit is a felt table scarf with flowers.  Linda and I both purchased that one.  Who will finish first??????

Nashua #2

Well during one class, Jeannette Douglas mentioned that they booth had hardware for the Isle of Hope bell pull we were stitching on.  Sooooo I had to go to the booth.  Then I found My Story, Strawberries and quaker pin cushions.  All with thread packs and kit parts.  Argh!!
That morning I was doing some shopping.  There were only 17 booths but I managed to find some wonderful things.  The two kits are Jane Greenoff's.  There are smalls and a bell pull to tempt my fancy.  There is a checkerboard spool with scissor hole and magnet for needle minder.  At dinner we had the magazines and file folder with a kit.

Nashua #1

Okay, I am home!  All is well.  DH didn't do great after the second round of chemo but he is okay and things are fine.  My room mate (Linda) came down with a nasty cold.  Cross your fingers that I don't get it.  I walked in the house, dumped everything and ran for the shower.  After a shower and change of clothes, I could give hugs.  It was a wonderful time and it did remind of festivals of olde.  I will try, over the next few days to give you some insight into my new stash and projects.  First we have a wooden spool that will get a pin cushion and will hold pearl cotton balls.  Along with the little basket I won last night.  There is the hardware for the Isle of Hope bell pull, a free Prairie Schooler Easter bunny, many flosses, a free kit from last night dinner all in brown and blue.  Under all of that is the Vera Bradly pouch I received last night.  Oh, some Dovo scissors and a bit of fabric from last night. I also see magnets and a key chain with a heart floss holder.  All that in photo number one.

The 'wood lady' and I have met and done well together.  I can't wait to show these to my son and my brother.  Of course I found as much purple as I could.  You have a seam ripper and awl, a necklace (magnetic) scissor holder and a seam presser.  There are all in beautiful woods and so smooth.  Yummy.

I have more photos but I will post them over the next few days.  I hope to get back to my every day posting.  My stitching mojo has been renewed.  It was wonderful to meet some designers, see all the stitcher, oh and the models!! - it was a festival.  I needed say more.

Nausha, NH

The Stash!!  So far.......  Yes, we are here and we are having fun.  I had my first class today and then we got to shop for a bit,  I am exhausted and smiling all the time.  Things are okay at home and I hope they improve tomorrow.  Meanwhile, this is a photo with a little taste of what is going on here.

Gingerbread Man

Well, it was packing day around here.  I am sort of ready.  I did want to finish this one and move on to a 'travel project'.  This is going to make a really cute cracker.  Tomorrow a friend and I head to NH for a stitching festival.  This will be her first festival.  We should have a good time.  I am hoping that all is well at home.  It feels strange to be going right now.  I know I will worry but I am hoping that the festival keeps my mind focused on stitching, unless I really do have to come back home.

Chemo Day Finishes

It was chemo day so we spent most of the day at the hospital.  I finished up the hemstitching on the snowman cracker (Victoria Sampler) and then I moved on to the St. Pat's pin by HandBlessings.  I need to trim it and glue the pin on the back.  Hubby is doing well.  Thank you to all that have sent prayers, cards and good wishes.  He was able to swallow water and it stayed down on Friday!! He then tried ice cream, just a bit.  It went well.  It is a baby step but it also means that the stuff is working.  We are happy dancing.

Little Snowman & Gingerbread Man

Finished.  Done.  Complete.  I got to spend some time teaching a new cross stitcher.  It does my heart good to see another person embrace this hobby.  Little does she know how addicting it is.

I moved on and started the little gingerbread man.  I should be working on something that is not over one.  There are two more sections to complete this one.  I have one more of these to do to complete the chart.  Next up should be Santa.  I do like doing the hem stitching while at the hospital so I will keep on going.

Little Snowman

I started to work on the next Victoria Sampler cracker.  (Little Christmas ornament)  Mr. Snowman is ready for the rest of it to be done.  I wish I could say that I have been stitching up a storm but I haven't.  Things are busy around our house.  DH is feeling better and we are going and doing what we can.  Next week I have a stitching festival to attend.  Perhaps that will help get my 'stitching mojo' back.

Angel Done

She is ready for making into a 'cracker'.  Victoria Sampler's design.  So much of it was stitched over one!!  I wasn't expecting it.  Next up - - Mr. Snowman.....

Top Half of Angel Cracker

Here she is!!  My angel is complete with the top bands.  There are two more bands on the bottom and then she is done.  The crackers are then made into small needlerolls.  I will have plenty of hemstitching to do at the hospital.  I am stitching on 28 count to answer one of the questions. I am surprised at how much of this is done over one.  It is pretty.

Angel starts to appear

Well, I successfully stitched the other half of the white.  Then I did the herringbone stitch at the base so I could correctly position the angel.  Most of this is stitched over one.  What was I thinking?  Using a magnifier helps.  It was a pretty day to go for a ride so we did.

Just a bit of progress -

Victoria Sampler's Christmas Crackers - I have started the angel one.  I had twice this amount stitched when I discovered I was not on the same level as this one.   I ripped out the second part and will have to begin it again.  We are getting caught up on sleep and that is a good thing.  We did get out for a drive and it was a pretty day.

Love Is....

Done.  Complete.  Finished.  Finally I was able to put more than two stitches together to get this done.  The buttons look really neat on this project.  I am not sure what project I will try next.  Jack has now completed the first round of chemo therapy.  So far so good.  We are napping a lot more than usual.  I am really hoping that tomorrow is a good day.

God Bless the USA

I have made a bit of progress on this project.  I need to do the back stitching and the clouds over the flowers.  I keep thinking I will finish it but then time gets away from me.

I finished this one yesterday while my husband was receiving his first chemo therapy.  It was strange because the designer called for a single floss stitched twice for each leg of the cross.  She said it would make the back of the piece less full and then it would fit into the little from better.  It should make for a very cute necklace.

Jack is doing just fine so far.  We had a rough night of coughing but a few naps can help to fix that.  So far so good.  All prayers and encouragement is welcome and appreciated.  The war against the cancer has begun and we plan on winning.

Friends - All you need - -

It has been a very busy week.  I did get the hemstitching done on the needle roll and two ornament.  I stitched quite a bit in waiting rooms.  My husband begins with chemo therapy on Monday.  Today friends and family 'cleaned and steamed' the house.  We are ready for the next challenge.  I will have to select a good project for Monday.  Chemo will take many hours so it has to be portable and easy to work on.  I really enjoyed working on the hem stitching on Friday.  It goes well, easy to do and you can show off the pretty part that is already done.

A Finish and progress on Love Is

There are more mistakes in this thing then I care to think about.  I stitched this while at the hospital waiting for procedures, instructions, whatever happens next.
I had planned on doing a couple of these.  Maybe I can get the next one right.
I did get some flowers done.  Well, not done.  There are buttons to add and back stitching to be done.  I am just happy with the progress.

Love Is Continues

I have been stitching!!  The bottom row is done.  The verse is done.  Now we have flowers and a bunch of buttons.  There are just a few curly type clouds above the flowers.

My husband is doing well.  He has all the tests done, we hope.  We have two more procedures to do before they can start chemo therapy.  Life is strange.  I am trying my very best to remain positive through this.  Your prayers and comments are welcome.
