Stash Break

Another Just Nan Humbug called Summer Wings. I also received another LHN ornament.
And I just had to get this limited edition The Bird Cage from Just Nan. I just love the goofy birds. You can only get this kit from Silver Needle. This has to remain near the top of my to do list.

The fix is in - -

Well, I got beyond that little mess. The White block is done and then I moved on to some pretty flowers in their own block.

Signed and dated!

Well, I moved on to put the initials and the year in their little boxes. Then I moved on to do a new box. The frog came and visited. I had to rip out the lower edge and then I put some stitching in the middle so I could double check my counts. Grrrrr. Frog, Frog Go Away!

We have RED!!!

I moved a bit to the right and did the red block and a bit of blue section divider. Not a huge amount but it is progress.

Long May She Wave

Well we have some more border and a flag pole. We also added the grass around the house. The house block is now done. The two blocks below it will hold initials and year. Onward!

Windows and doors have now been added.

We have a new house- - -

I am once again using my method to help blend in overdyed flosses. I do two horizontal rows at a single time. This lets like colors to sort of cluster together.

It's a good start -

Blue Ribbon Designs - A Patriotic Sampler. This is similar to Peppermint Twist that I did a while back. This is on 32 count linen - Lakeside Linen Reindeer. I am using Sampler overdyed flosses. I just ordered more Freedom and Cherry Wine.

Spooky!!!!

Here is another one. This one has a spider web make with Krienick very thin silver stuff. It was a bear to get it stitched while sitting in front of a fan. I love the purple beads! Once again we have a beaded tassel.

Happy Halloween - a bit early.

This was a fun stitch. I love the beaded tails. The finishing on a diamond ornament is rather easy and it was quickly done.

Time for something small -

Mill Hill kit for a Halloween ornament. Well, it is a start.

Needlework Shop is done!

Here it is!!!! Complete with snowman button. There are a lot of beads on this one. I am very pleased with this. I plan to do a bunch of these as stand ups so I can have a Christmas Village.

Clear and white beads - -

Well, the beading has started. I also did the back stitching, which I had forgotten.

Saturday, July 10, 2010

The second floor has been added

We are ready to begin the beads. This is my second of this type of project. I have found that using small Altoid gum tins (1 for each bag of beads) seems to help keep them organized and it is easy to pick up the beads from out of the tins. As you can see from all the 'holes' in my stitching, there is going to be a lot of beads.

We have snow!!

Great strides on this one today. Remember this is a needlework shop. The front window and the front door are ready for beads. Plus the mailbox is up. I still think these look so strange without the beads. It is like backstitching a piece at the end, it all comes together and explains it all.

A start on Christmas -

Ok. Mill Hill Christmas Village, the Needlework Shop has a beginning. It is strange to stitch one of these as you leave room for beads which will come later. Meanwhile it looks like I am missing a lot of stitches.

A bit of finishing - -

These two little bits of cross stitch were stitched while I was in NY in May. I stitched them while visiting my sister in the ICU. It was difficult to get these pieces finished. I was not especially in love with the colors. Green has never been my color. It was a color that my sister would have loved. I tear up every time I look at these.

Hear! Hear! For the red, white and blue!

This is to be a scissors fob? I am thinking this might make a good front of a needle book. The back would be the next photo. This seems to big for a fob. The designer is Shepherds Bush.

Happy Birthday America!!

This is entitled Tiny Flag by Shepherds Bush. It was to be made into a pin cushion. I think not. I am thinking it is perfect for the top of an Altoid tin.

These two small pieces will go in a plastic key chain.

A bit of quaker - -

This is one side of a key chain that I am working on.
