I touched a wall

That is what I say when I put the first stitch on a side. Since I started this one in the middle on the top, there won't a lot of celebrations. At this point I have touched three walls. LOL. I can really look forward to that last one. The butterfly and the cricket have not been backstitched just yet. This finishes the upper left corner.

The little ones are done and we can move on

The amount of stitching in the center 'by the sea' just amazes me. Then there was a lot of backstitching. It looks great now but it was a lot of work. I am ready to move on to a new section. What direction to go next?

By the sea, by the sea

The middle upper portion of this project is the little boy and girl playing in the surf and searching for sea shells. I love this theme and it has been done time and time again. I was surprised at just how much stitching it takes to make this little scene.

Tomato Seeds!!

Tomatoes just scream Summer. I found I had to give extra attention to making the dark color lay down properly. I use a laying tool that is on a thimble. I wear it on my left hand ring finger. My left hand is on top of the scroll rods and as I draw the thread through to the back, I can hook the threads with the laying tool. This helps to insure that the threads are giving the most coverage.

I love the colors

I continue to work on Summer. I just love the whole design. The strip I finished is so lovely with the colors running together. I am trying to keep up with the backstitching with each section that is completed. I can't imagine waiting until the end of such a complicated, intricate piece.

And the stitching begins

This was after just a day or two on the new Summer Scrapbook design. I just love these designs because you quickly finish one section and go on to another section. Each section is different and fun. (Or so I tell myself......).

The beginning of a big one

I pulled the threads out of the kit and spent an hour or so sorting and labeling the colors. Then I had to find fabric as I won't stitch on aida. I have it all ready to go in this photo. I love these scrapbook designs. Each little section is like a new project. The only question is what part to do next. I have already done two of these designs. Spring and Autumn are hanging on my wall already. This is summer. I know from the past that once I start one of these - - it is hard to get me to stop. I sorted the floss into floss totes. I made these few years ago and I can't imagine stitching a large project without one or two of these. I can put the floss into loops of elastic, label the symbols and numbers on a paper insert and park any needles in the top.

Part Two of Barnabee

This is the back side of the Just Nan When Barnabee Meets Bella biscornu. I even did the backstitching in preparation of putting together. I haven't done that. Maybe tomorrow I will take a break and do that. I have a new exciting project that is occupying all my time. I will start showing photos of it tomorrow.

Every now and then - -

I work on this project when I am sitting and waiting, like at a Doctor's office. I pulled this out last week and was able to get quite a bit done. I thought I would share it as a update. This project still has many, many hours to go before it is done.

Just Nan Barnabee & Bella Biscornu

Hi All,

First I want to tell you that Michelle is still recovering. She loves all the cards and packages. The post marks are causing quite the discussions and map reading activities. I will also tell you that shortly after the pictures were taken, two large men tried to gently pick her up and put her back on the couch. She was in pain and won't be getting back on the floor again.

I am currently done with all the models I had waiting. So it is time to stitch for me. I started this biscornu. This is the top. The bottom is not as busy as the top so I hope to have it done soon.

Michelle - Seems to be feeling better

I can't believe this girl. This is my great niece, Michelle, with all the cards and things that have arrived in the mail. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone that sent something. It has brightened her days and it is amazing to all that so many people are sending prayers and hugs to someone they don't even know. I will post the photo with her lap full of cards and a photo with her Survival bag which was sent by a small on line group that I am a member of. She is pictured with my great, great nephew, Michelle's newphew. I can't believe with all the broken bones, she is sitting on the floor like that. I cringe just thinking of it.

Happy Fourth of July

I am not sure what possessed me this morning but I decided that the kitchen curtains needed to be done - now. I have had the fabric for two years so I am not sure what my hurry is. I have blue and white checked fabric with cherries on it. It is based on Mary Engelbreit designs. My kitchen has a lot of ME in it and the curtains I felt would be a nice addition. Well, I did it. I really like the way they turned out.

Let's find something to post

I am so sorry I haven't been posting. Life gets in the way all the time around here. My niece is home from the hospital!!! They kicked her out last Sunday. I am shocked. By now lots of cards and packages should be arriving. I hope to hear something soon.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, I finished two Christmas projects for PG Peddler. I love both of them. I will share them with all of you when they are released.

I am currently working on Just Nan's Barnabee's Quest biscornu. I found a color change with the thread pack and I am waiting to hear if I am correct with my assumptions.

Meanwhile I will find some thing pretty to share. I enjoy all your comments and think the cyber world is just wonderful. (I know there are some dark areas but all I see is friendly, kind hearted people. I want to keep it that way.)

I found Tea & Stitches by Victoria Sampler. I do enjoy the hardanger. I am strange - I know that.
